Can't recover the Hamatsu during the Galatian questline.

This only happened once out of like four games. Normally you can recover the Venture Class cruiser at the Alpha Site for a side quest, but instead it just gave me a few survey data items, like how some random derelicts out in the sector would. If I tried interacting with the ship again, I would get booted from the dialogue. This doesn't stop me from completing the Galatian questline.

Hi - thanks for the report! Do you happen to have a save handy or a screenshot? It'd help to see what you mean by "booted out of the dialog".

Received this bug report in the Nex thread which involved a mod interaction with the Hamatsu, may or may not be related to the thread's issue:

Sent it. I do have Industrial Revolution installed and one of its events, that I thought was vanilla, played during the interaction. I'll post over there now.

Is there anyway to "fix" this via console commands? not sure if I can spawn in a special venture that triggers the event... or maybe resets the dialogue. I got the intel, fought the ~~~~ and then saved because I won with only a few frigates down... now I guess I betrayed that poor spacer :(
