I had a closer look and I found the place error is coming from. I can add exception catching, but for me the question remains, is it ok to include ship IDs of hulls without spec files? I can't tell as I'm new to modding this game. Thank you YukiM for updating your mod, I may add that catch clause to prevent such errors in the future and/or if that's a feature you are relaying on? Not sure if that's correct/if there is any other way to decide if a ship should be included or not.

PS I believe the crash is because another mod was on before save and is off while trying to load, I could not reproduce the crash, when I used Nightcross mod game loaded just fine, only Stelnet Market wasn't working. but YMMW I suppose.

Strangely enough, ive never installed or enabled SWP this time though. I guess there was just a reference to it in NA

Alright, i have finally found the culprit with 100% guarantee. Its Nightcross Armory. If i enable it with StelNet, i can start a save with it, all ships work fine. Then, i save, and i cant load that save.




If i remove Nightcross, all is OK. Im not sure where exactly the issue is, in Nightcross or StelNet, so ill post in both :p

I've been having the same exact issue. Is there a way to fix this in existing saves with all the mods updated?

EDIT: Updating and restarting twice fixed it for me!

That could be caused by a different mod, SWP was causing exact same issue you were seeing in my case at least. Many mods change save files, so removing them can cause some issues sooner or later.

I've been having the same exact issue. Is there a way to fix this in existing saves with all the mods updated?
Updating mods should fix the game, there was a fix released for that, w/o updating you can fix it by deleting offending ship IDs from `/data/world/factions/nightcross.faction`.

She's found on the main UAF planet Auroria, it's kinda odd she was randomly chosen to be the contact for the faction since you have to complete a few steps before you can talk to her.
But that's more of a Nexerelin issue I think, since you get assigned a contact when starting a campaign with one of factions.
I installed Nexerelin and UAF and started a new game, chose to be in the UAF faction and I've got a contact by default (Sofia Collahan, no idea if the name is random). I've got to the New Auroria planet, but I don't see any queen? So I'm not able to reproduce the error.

Ok, I managed to reproduce it with a different character in that mod. Unfortunately I don't know how to fix it with my current Starsector modding knowledge. I created an issue on the github - https://github.com/jaghaimo/stelnet/issues/119 - if any1 wants to help figuring it out, it would be great :) otherwise, well, not sure of ETA for the fix for this issue - when I have some time I will try to check related Starsector's API/dialog behaviour.

I've ran into a rather strange issue.

Playing with nexerelin and aurora united start, the queen has been set as default contact but I can't contact her. (Have to probably do the regular quest progression to talk to her)
If I attempt to call from the manage contacts screen I get the regular connection denied but once I close the dialogue my fleet gets wiped and I respawn with nothing.
I'm not sure when I can properly fix it, but I know how annoying it is to lose the fleet. If you wish you can try out version I'm testing - https://github.com/user-attachments/files/19637268/stelnet-3.2.1-dev.zip - it isn't perfect, but it shouldn't wipe out your fleet anymore, instead it will flash for a second a window with contact's station dialog menu that you shouldn't be able to click ;p if you try it, let me know if you notice any other issues with contacts.

Funnily enough this is actually caused by a Nightcross Armory interaction. You can fix this by going into the Nightcross mod folder, data, world, factions, then into the nightcross.faction file. Scroll down until you see "shipsWhenImporting". In the hulls section, delete all 4 lines in the brackets, then save the file. After loading Starsector again, you can load the save perfectly fine.

Hello, first post on the forum, fantastic mod, still seems to work with the new update of 0.98a-RC8(when you edit the mod's json to reflect the new version), however maybe the subject of this thread could be updated to reflect that it is still being updated and works with the current versions?
I almost thought this mod was left without support before I read the last couple pages and could see how someone who is just browsing for mods might also think the same thing by just looking at the thread name
(The mod index page also says this mod is up to date but I can see how it could easily add to the confusion)

Since Jaghaimo requested that all feedback be directed to Stellar Networks, I just wanted to say that I really wish Stellics 1.2.0 had been curated. It was working perfectly up until version 0.98a but now it is easy to make it crash.
I’ve looked through the forums and haven’t found any other mod that only handles cargo and ship transfer—everything else I’ve seen includes a lot of extra features I don’t really need or want given how they change the game.

Hello all,

Stellar Networks will not be updated to 0.97a. It has been a long while since I was active around here. Usual stuff pertaining to life is to blame: young children, work, and off-screen hobbies. Preposterous. Whenever I had some spare time, I'd use it on my mods and as a result, I haven't even played 0.95a or 0.96a! So I'm going to stop, and play this game for a change.

Like with all my mods, Stellar Networks is open source. The repository is archived, but anyone is welcome to fork it and publish their copy - just distinguish it somehow. A good example is Starpocalypse being adopted, and the new versions distributed under the name of Starpocalypse Revengeance.

Subject of the thread can only update author and mods but the download link on the first page is connected to GitHub and will always be up to date. Since I can't imagine playing without this mod ;D I decided to maintain this mod in my spare time, so if new versions of Starsector break the compatibility I will try to fix it. In case of new functionalities, if anyone wants to contribute just check GitHub page and I can help with merging and releasing updated mod. PS Mod should work just fine between Starsector RC versions, if it won't I will release a new version. I have a couple of small fixes I want to release soon.

I meant other mods. As far as I know StelNet does not have a cargo transfer function. However my concern of bloat applies to StelNet as well. Vanilla added so much intel tabs over the last few major versions that it's a headache in itself.

* What version of Starsector are you running?
* What version of Stelnet are you running?
* Did you upgrade the game or mod recently (if so from what to what versions)?
* If you upgraded the game, are you using a save game from previous version?
* Do you have only one selnet directory in your game `mods` directory?
The error seems like you have problem with how mod was installed (maybe extracted the new version over the old). Try to delete stelnet directory from `mods` to ensure no old files are there and use the newest version: stelnet-3.2.2.zip.

volt, first off I want to thank you for reviving and maintain this mod as it is essential for the players who enjoy the trading aspect of the game. Now to the meat of the issue, a feature that Jaghaimo had addressed back in the .96 version:

However, in the .98 version you are maintaining, it does not seem to work as I put HIVER in both the market_by_faction and market_by_id csv but they still show up on the commodity screen.

I realize you just maintain the mod at this stage but if you could make this feature of the mod work in .98 it would make numerous players that use my mod Hiver Swarm very happy. The issue stems from them having an insular economy that players cannot trade with but they dominate the markets. Thank you again for the revival!
