Didn't do survey on that yet. But even they are affected the total amount is still very limited and should not be trusted upon. They are more like toys given to you so that you don't want them too much like when being totally inaccessible.

Salvaging skills/gantries only affect common loot, not rare loot, so it should only increase the droprate of supplies, fuel, metals, etc. Not weapons.

That said those weapons really are more trophies than anything usable. The moment you get them you've thoroughly proven that you don't need them.

I see. I guess I simply got unlucky with the drops.

As for the weapons being trophies, I'm not so sure. The fight is difficult, but not nearly as difficult as lategame bounties or even leveled up ordos. Better weapons would come in handy. Large ones look like jokes, but mediums and smalls are really solid.
