I have to know!

It used to be the Conquest for me, but it almost feels overpowered now. I think I really like the Apogee for being so weird. Plus I dig the art - I mixed a little Star Trek saucer idea with some Star Wars blockade runner and 2001 Odyssey design with the usual over-detailed pixel-wankery I love so much. And it's asymmetric!



So what's yours?

Asymmetric ship designs rock. More of them in the future please  

At the moment I think my favorite ship is the Enforcer-class Destroyer and the Onslaught-class Battleship (that is, if I had the chance to pilot it).



I like the Enforcer because of how well rounded it's armament and engines are. Plus, being in control of all those rapid fire weapons is great fun  


As for ship ideas, here are a few components that could be incorporated in new ships:

• Stealth / active camouflage
• Jump drives
• Flares / missile decoys
• Mines
• Noise cannons - energy weapons that disrupt weapon targeting on ships they hit (causes the weapon rotations to jitter)
• Boarding pods - board and attempt to kill off the crew, giving you control of the ship
• Tractor beams - great for capital ships, hold those quick moving destroyers in place
• Harpoons - low tech tractor beams. Harpoon an enemy ship and drag around or reel it in

The Apogee is by far my favorite so far, with the Falcon fire support variant coming in a close second. The Conquest is remarkably pretty, though.

I dislike the Enforcer a lot, at least in its standard configuration--the gun arrangement strikes me as sub-optimal.

I'm personally partial to the shape of the Conquest (especially since the pronged design helped me escape a torpedo hit once!)

The Onslaught I find is fun, and a great enemy to face off with, but without any support, they are extremely vulnerable from a design standpoint given their unprotected rears.

I also like how the apogee and valk got paint jobs ^^

Lol - out of curiosity, that shuttle can be destroyed, no? That results in automatic game-over I'm guessing?

It can not For a while there, the AI didn't know about it and assiduously tried to, though. But now it's learned its lesson.

The only difference is that mine has a lot of computer games, including ones where you have to control giant spaceships. What can I say...I like meta.

But the real question is, do you have computer games where you have a tiny Captain's yacht to shuttle you between those giant space ships.

I'd say my top at the moment is probably the Falcon fire support, it really got my attention when I managed to solo those two onslaughts and three or thanks four smaller vessels without even taking a hit to my armor.

I must admit I'm quite fond of the Conquest thanks to the sheer weapon coverage it has, although the Apogee is quite nice thanks to that shield and the energy weaponry too.

Personally, I'm not overly impressed with what I've seen of the Onslaught. While it is unquestionably well armed, the lack of mobility combined with the limited front angle shield makes it a bit disappointingly easy to take out. I'll admit that this could be a result of the AI and the loadouts but even with a destroyer I've had little trouble taking out Onslaughts.

When we get the ability to refit ships ingame this will probably change.

Ok, must change favorite ship. Without a doubt the Conquest-Class Elite Battlecruiser is the most bad ass ship in the universe.

I just beat the Last Hurrah with 74% - I took out both Onslaught-class Battleships as well as 3 Destroyers single-handed with my Conquest Battlecruiser. Broadside guns FTW.

You mean Onslaught-Class battleships? There is only the Elite Battlecruiser variant of the Conquest that I can recall of.
