Starsector plays in the milk way galaxy.

There is a common misconception that Starsector plays in a far far away galaxy, but one simple look at the sector map will reveal this - the Orion-Perseus Arm.

Orion and Perseus are both actual places in the Milky way Galaxy, they are each one "arm".

Earth is located in the Orion arm, which makes this althemore plausible, this leads me to believe that the Persean sector is somewhere at the edge of the Perseus arm, seeing as beyond the map borders there is literally nothing.
