Anyway, should we make a thread to beg Alex for patch notes?
That's not gonna accomplish anything tho. Well, other than maybe irritating him a bit.

My main annoyance with the slow release cycle is delayed fixes for bugs. Releasing new features only when they've been tested and fleshed out is great, but I'd like to not have to wait years for some common crashes to be fixed.

(I think the main thing preventing frequent fix updates in the past was bandwidth costs? If so, it might be worth spending dev time on an update tool.)

What if Alex gave the fixed code for players to compile by themselves before he releases full-fledged updates?

(... pretty much correct. Please don't!)

(I wouldn't say it's the main thing, it's just one of the things. Having to maintain separate branches for "bug fixes" vs" actual forward development" - and there's often overlapping code there - it would be a significant drain on my time, i.e. it would slow the releases down by a pretty good amount.)
