Hull Mods
« on: July 09, 2020, 09:38:12 AM »

Any good Hull Mod mods that give increased speed/manoeuvrability? I love my Battleship that I recovered from the enemy after it took out half my fleet, but it moves so slow I die of boredom waiting for it to arrive.

  • Auxiliary Thrusters increase maneuverability by 50%
  • Unstable Injector increase Top Speed by 25/20/15/15 units depending on Ship Size
  • Safety Overrides increase Top Speed (and Acceleration relative to it) by 50/30/20 units, but cannot be installed on Capital Ships

Alternatively check out the SpeedUp Mod, which Speeds up Battles if you press Caps Lock or Middle Mouse

If you are looking to increase Burn Levels:
  • Militarized Subsystems increase it by 1, but can only be installed on Ships with Civilian Hulls
  • Augmented Drive Field increases it by 2
  • The Ox-Class Ship has an in build H-Mod that increases the Fleets Burn Level by an additional Level, and it stacks with other Ox Ships, they are Maintenance heavy and sensor noisy though

Forgot to mention
  • Nav Relay, when deployed increases the top speed of other ships by 2%/3%/4%/5% depending on this Ships Size

I meant on top of them. It's got a top speed of 60 and turns like a slug with Auxiliary Thrusters, Unstable Injector, a whole fleet of Nav Relays (I think there is some hard limit to it) and a few other Hull Mods from other mods.

Burn Level is no problem. And I don't want to speed up the game because that just has the same issue of my battleship not making it to the fight.

So... All you need is speed? Just hack ship_data.csv and change speed parameter for this shiphull!*

*to be honest - that was intentionally bad advice.

What can I say? They are meant to be slow and sluggish.
If you don't want to go into Battle without the Battleship on the frontline first, set all other Ships to escort it, Speed Up time and, well, wait for the Ship to arrive with the other Ships surrounding it.
Also look out for D-Mods, maybe you got one which decreases Speed and Maneuverability.
