Onslaught's main caliber line crossing.

Suggestion is very simple. Replace this:

Into this:

That is semi-random, probably not optimal angles. But seriously, ever Hegs won't build a ship, which main caliber can not be even close targeted into single point.

Why should this mighty king be subjected to firing at anything less but the biggest targets in the sector? Non-capitals should be relegated to lesser weapons, like large ballistics  ;D

My sarcasm detector is going crazy, but I'll ignore it.  :P

Answer is simple - left gun unable to hit armor area, damaged by a right one, and visa-versa. That is not bug-hunting suggestion. It is mammoth-massacre.

True it's accuracy isn't the best, but that's more down to the weapon. The problem with forcing them to focus fire is the range. Unless it focuses at the weapons max range it'll be very wierd with an x like shape. And even if it does it'll have the same issue at anything but max range.

At least with it being straight it's just point on or both at a target.

That or have them have a little more room to turn so you can focus fire, or choose to just shoot straight.

Just because I disagree don't let that get you down! I'm only one person and that was just my opinion.

Personally I would like a little bit of convergence, though I don't need a crossing point. Just a little something to help hit long skinny caps at range.

Hm... It is trickier than I thought.

It was incredibly easy to redact a vanilla .ship file. And it work. But if I use it in a "mod" it is not replacing vanilla. I also able to "create" an identical copy of onslaught, and game even use it properly. But vanilla onslaught exist parallel.

As I told, angles are semi-random. Obvious, not optimal. Picture is for 5 degrees. Any guess for better?

Seems fine to me as-is tbh. The gun is inaccurate enough with extended firing that you can't hit small stuff with it anyway. Making the arcs slightly wider on the inside would seem like the reasonable approach for Hegemony engineers, as that's how you account properly for range, but leaving it as-is is also ok with me.

Add your Onslaught to the replace array in mod_info:

Code
   "data\\hulls\\onslaught.ship",

Depending on your operating system, you may have to play around with the separators. That should replace it instead of merging it though.

Thank you, kind man!

EDIT: If I only know what is "the replace array" and "play around with separators".
