Today is really sad day. I lost my fate in paragons after a like 4 years of constant piloting it...

That was a happy story at it's start. New run with some new mods. Small exploration fleet, consist of freighters, tankers, rigs (no guns at any) and 4(!) poorly armed degraded tempests. And that's it. All what I want on start. Suddenly, it appears right from the nebula! The royal gift from RNG God! Derelict Paragon with only one d-mod (structural damage)! Probably, wrecks from some kind of battle near. But who cares from where it is? Grab it! Fast! Snatch it, while no one can see! The treasure! Or I thought so...

That really was not easy to repair, and even harder to arm with weapons, but now it's done. Almost. You see, after installing all the hullmods, weapons and maxing out dissipation, it still 40 OP to spend. Shall I change weapons to more powerful or add capacitors? Nahhh! It is already enough power to crush any upcoming threat, that is not a radiant, battlestation or other Paragon. Just trust me, it does. Do I wish to hunt remnants, stations and high value bounties? No! I wish to explore those stars on outskirts of a sector! There is nothing to fear of...

Damn! THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR! Just like that! Precious present from highest powers kills all the fun of exploring the universe of danger!

Surveying equipment... That what I install on it. Just to justify it's huge month upkeep during a long expedition. It is really better than efficiency overhaul, cos' I survey everything I see. I can explore as long as I want now, because I salvage more supply and fuel, than consume. And random spawned pirates do not attack me. They fear me. I am a monster now.

And monster can not be a monsterfighter...

This is why I feel like the Paragon belongs at the head of a massive fleet. One that's capable of patrolling both ends of the Sector in one trip. I'm talking multiple Atlas' and Prometheus' super-freighters and multiple cruiser/carrier escorts. The sort of fleet that could just keep fighting on and on, crushing anyone/thing that attacks it.

The Paragon's logistical profile is ludicrous, and based on that you either need a LOT of credits to pay for all your AM Fuel and Supplies. Or you need to be constantly churning through high-volume fights, which probably won't yield enough salvage unless you've invested points into industry (specifically Field Repairs 2 and Salvaging 3)

I know what feeling you suggest friend.
    In my current playthrough I started solo frigate as i always do, heavily modded campgain and after a couple hours i had an enforcer 3 lashers and 3 civiliaan ships so I felt like some exploration was in order. After 2 succesfull derelict missions on my way back from a fridge system at the far end of the sector I checked one last system before heading back seeing as how I was running low on sullplies and had low enough money as to not be worth burning on no sullplies for too long.
    So I jump in, do a scan and see a ping on my map so I head there, and there it is.... A PRISTINE quality Legion XIV... What I felt was a combination of excitment, and angery. I always loved finding such treasures in my runs, but I have never found a rare mod capital ship so early (Remember i only had a dram a gemini 3 lashers and an enforcer all D-moded). Deep in me I wanted to strip the Legion down, act as if it wqasnt salvageable since I thought having this basicly skips my favorite part of playthroughts, the early game and after 10 minutes of a break I came back and stripped it down.

Truly the hardest choices require the strongest wills xD
