(Mod Suggestion) Target filter for ship weapons

As some of you already guessed, I am talking about heavy ship weapons firing all the time at a single fighter, while more important targets are in range. What this game needs is an option to toggle on/off certain types of targets for ships. When your biggest dreadnaught fires all the charges of it´s heaviest weapon at a squadron of little fighters, while a big cruiser is just next to it, then something is really wrong. I myself am not good enough in coding, maybe one of you is...I am thinking about more options then just putting weapons on auto fire....some kind of trigger for every weapon group, that allows/forbids ship/fighter/missile targets.

+1, rules-of-engagement per weapon are quite sorely needed. It could go even deeper, eg:

Autofire:
Always
Shields down/in-phase
Overloaded
Never

On targets:
Missiles (Must be PD weapon/IPDAI)
Fighters
Bombers
Shields
Armour
Hull
Engines
Weapons

Somewhat complex, but it wouldn't make a difference to players who don't want to tangle with it.
