general question about sector travel
« on: January 24, 2020, 11:54:37 PM »

so there is always a LOT of storms in sector travel, which you either have to go through or usually go very far to go around, depending on how thick the nebula is. so my question is, is there a hull mod that reduces, or negates the negative effects of the speed boost you get by being accelerated by the storms in sector travel? or a mod that adds one?

i would be greatly Thankful for any assistance.

You won't be able to refit fighters and bombers at all. They're designed/balanced around having a particular set of weapons and would be very broken if you could change it. Which ones you pick for your fleet -out of quite a few that are available- is the choice here, not how they're outfitted.

There's a hullmod called Solar Shielding that decreases corona and storm damage by 75% and a skill, Safety Operations 2, that decreases that damage by 50% for your entire fleet.

Solar shields are expensive for an entire fleet, sure. They're cheap for a midgame fleet that might have a few cruisers or 1 capital ship. There are also certain enemies that use tons of energy weapons, the extra damage reduction is pretty huge for those types of battles.
