Ghost ships?

(1/1)

goduranus:
Have you guys had this feeling where you would cruise in hyperspace, and catch something zoom by at the edge of your sight? I thought I saw something cross my screen in less than a second. If it were a fleet I'd say it had a burn speed of at least 50. Maybe it's just a fleet flung by a storm and going the opposite direction, or a kind of sensor range marker, but I didn't get a good look so I can't be sure...

Wyvern:
On the one hand, that was probably just a fleet flung by a storm in the opposite direction.

On the other hand, now that the idea's been brought up... there really should be ghost ships in game, shouldn't there?

lethargie:
During one playthrought of 8.1 were i was going badly, with a single cruiser and bounties I couldn't kill... I salvaged a pristine conquest in hyperspace around Askonia.
Fully equipped with mjolnir on one side, no d-mod. No sign of battle close either.

I'm convinced this ship was super haunted

might have something in approximately this vein in the works  :-X

Goumindong:
If a fight occurred on the edge of hyperspace/in hyperspace and created a wreck. That wreck could probably be propelled by a subsequent storm. This would occur at speed 30 as this is the actual max speed. And if you were moving in the opposite direction this could be up to relative speed 50 if you were at burn 20. I have never seen this myself but it makes sense.

Similarly a small fleet at burn 2 with its sensors off going in the opposite direction would appear to be going very fast.
