consider adding toggles for such things as enemy ship concentrations(number of groups flying around) for ppl that like to fight, difficulty of enemies, concentration of ships in group etc.

Yeah, I would love to have alot of this in game but much of it can be found and edited in the settings.json file (located at "..\Starsector\starsector-core\data\config\settings.json") and can be edited with a simple text editor. Be sure to back up the file though and take note that it will need to be changed every release
