Shield upkeep - how you get value?

So, what's formula?
I thought that takes into account max flux value and "shield upkeep" (in ship_data.csv) value but I was wrong.I have ships with same values but different in game shield upkeep, like Venture and Falcon. In .csv fie they got same value for max fux and shield upkeep but in game their shield upkeep is different. Sooooooo who know?

Shield effiencency is also taken into account here, that's Why the shields can be different, it says how much flux damage the shield does when hit.

It's a fraction of the dissipation rate, not the max flux.

So what exactly does shield upkeep do and how does that interplay with the shield flux value? I've not noticed a difference between lower or higher shield upkeep ratings.

Ah okay, so you won't see any generated if you flux dissipation is higher and you aren't shooting or being shot at.
Thanks
