Nia gave permission, and someone posted a bootleg for 95/95.1 a few pages back.

Basically, bootlegs/unofficial updates are fine so long as the original author is ok with it and explicitly says so.

Sylphon enjoyer here. There was a guy talking about adopting it with Nia's blessing in the Discord a couple weeks back he was just holding off for .96 I think. Hopefully he's hard at work.

It works. The game does run, the solar systems do spawn, the ships do fly, the guns do fire.
But there are rumours of some bugs like automatic ships can defect in fights, even if you ally the faction.
The update is fine as long as someone actually can sit and revise the few-years-old code. So stop pointless spam "update when?" unless you can do it.
Author words: "Update? Go for it. Sylphon bootlegs are all legal". Too lazy to screen the proof, join the discord and look there if wish to.

For "bootleg update" just replace "gameversion" in "mod_info" file to
0.96a-RC10

Crash on gamestart, turning Sylphon off solves. Seems like its finally too far gone for just a version string change. A shame, I really liked some of the weapon systems. Hopefully someone adopts it.
