Save and Load
« on: August 28, 2017, 07:15:52 PM »

Each time I save I prey, this time please don't break down. And It works most of the time but not always.
And I noticed, if i play for a long time, the jvm warns that the heap is in trouble, and then i have no way but to restart the game.
Is this the problem of my frequent save and load? It's like the xml resources don't release.
And the saving xml file, why not use an optimized library? Or it's inconvenient.

Have you tried replacing the xstream file with the newest version?

Did you increase the memory allocated to the game, by editing the vmparams file?

Yes, 4096m for Xms and Xmx, and not much mods.
I ask this question not just for myself, I saw so many players in my group are suffering from save files' breaking down.

Hmm. It's possible that a specific mod is causing the issues, in which case the number of mods being low wouldn't matter. I'm not aware of there being a general issue with save/loading, aside from when there's a large number of mods without enough memory being allocated.

Not a specific mod, and that's just many mods should allocate more memory. But what I'm thinking about is the way that less memory can be allocated.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean here, would you mind rephrasing?

Ah, I see - yeah, for sure. Some things in the dev build should already help a good bit.

(But - IF the problem is caused by a mod, then it's not something I can fix. What I mean is if more mods use more memory, and allocating more memory fixes it, then that's fine and that's where the stuff I'm doing in dev should help as well. But if a mod were to have a memory leak, then more memory or fixes on my end won't help.)

Yep, I see. Mods' leak problem shouldn't be blamed on you. ;D
And i'm glad to hear that, wish your game better  :-*
