Creating a custom mission
« on: August 06, 2017, 12:12:13 PM »

Is there anyway to create a custom mission? For testing mod ships and the likes? Would be kind of fun to set up fights how I want them to take a break from the campaign every now and then

though they are terribly outdated and require alot of effort to make them work.

Yes, you can make custom missions. I would take a look at one of the popular faction mods for an example, or just look at one of the base-game mission files. starsector-core/data/missions, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, I would suggest copy-pasting one of those just to get started more easily. If you want to put it into a proper mod structure, you can, but if you just copy-paste a mission folder and tweak things that should also be fine. Just keep in mind you'll lose it if you reinstall the game, unless you copy it somewhere manually.
