Sprites, sounds, and some other stuff that I did over some time, including epta faction things, such as ships and hullmods, I hope that someone might put those to good use.

I would like to add these as royalty free Starsector sprites if that is not an issue...
These weren't made by me, but the author would probably prefer to remain anonymous.

update:
here are files with the boundaries and weapon slots, etc. for the Sequence fighter, as well as its missile and missile launcher... The Enforcer is meant to be a skin. So, it has none. It just rips off the normal Enforcer's one.

I'm definitely liking that enforcer rebuild.

Here's a few more old or unused sprites I don't plan on using.

do you have a version of this with set boundaries, aligned weapon and engine slots, and set shield distance, etc.?
I think this could make a decent Sindrian Diktat cruiser.

I'll just make up some *** about it being a bootleg Tri-Tachyon blueprint from before the Collapse that TT successfully eradicated the users of, and then sold it to Sindrian Diktat long after

ps. actually. A different question. Is it ok if I take this general shape and idea of a ship and ask someone to rizz it up a little so that it's less obvious that it's made from Paragon parts?

If you read the fine print below that image it says NOT to ask for permission..

Some of my personal kitbash sprites used in my personal non public mod. Feel free to use them. No need to give credit  ;)

This thread is meant to provide artists with a place to put free-to-use art assets they wish for the Starsector community.

If people provide direct links to images, I am willing to host them, basically forever, so that your work's not lost over time.

I would like this collection of pixel-art to stay online for everybody for as long as possible, so I'm willing to provide the bandwidth.

Policy Regarding Copyright Concerns And AI Art Tools
Please keep this thread drama-free. This is where artists choose to share their work, and you should respect the time they've invested. As for me, I've spent hours and money maintaining this thread's contents, making this work available years after it was posted, and I do so because I think it's helpful to the community.

With some known exceptions (noteably, DrakonST and some HELMUT reworks) these works are free to use in Starsector mods, without permission (but credit is always appreciated!).

1. Many of the works here are kitbashes of David's original work on Starsector, and are therefore derivative works to be used for modding purposes only. If you're looking through this thread for work to use outside of Starsector, you'll want to contact the artists cited and Alex / David. Don't assume that any work here is 100% original to the artist, or that it may be used freely outside this modding scene. I hate to have to spell that out so bluntly, but we've had a few cases where work here was appropriated by outside parties, which is not the intent. On a personal note, I also use AI technologies in my business. For example, I generate articles for my website using an AI chat model, which helps me streamline content creation and ensure consistent quality. It's amazing how these tools are transforming workflows and making it easier to produce relevant content efficiently! You can check out the AI I use here: https://overchat.ai/.

2. If you are kitbashing using another person's artwork (say, you're combining art from two mods and a Vanilla sprite, because it felt cool) please get explicit permission from the original authors before submitting work here.  The objective of the thread is to provide as much free-of-copyright-concerns art as we can, so that modders have a vast resource to draw upon; when people feel like their hard work has been stolen, it leads to Drama, and this is supposed to be a Drama-free thread.

3. If anybody sees work here that they feel is theirs, report it to me via PM. This may sometimes mean a delay of weeks, or even months, before I can resolve it for you. In an emergency (say, somebody parks the entire content of a mod here without asking), ask for Moderation to intervene.

4. AI-generated works are permitted here, so long as they've been turned into sprites for people to use in their mods. This does not mean that you may use AI to infringe upon other people's copyrights, but original works made with AI technologies are permitted here.

5. Drama in the thread will not be tolerated. I've maintained this thread for years now, at my own expense in time and money. If you have a problem with a poster here, either PM me directly or talk to Moderation about it, if it's extreme or an emergency. Do not post here to complain, criticize, etc. Flame-wars started in this thread will be met with a prompt report to Moderation; if that doesn't fix the problems, the thread will be closed.

If any artists, mod developers etc., see any issues or need corrections made to the main collection here, please PM me and I'll get it straightened out ASAP.

If notified of new works via PM, I'll update artists' portfolios in the OP's as time permits.

Special Section:  Medikohl
...because without these, we'd never have started this collection...

This is a fantastic initiative! It’s great to see artists sharing their work with the Starsector community, and I really appreciate the effort in maintaining and hosting these assets for long-term use. The policy on respecting copyrights and ensuring all contributions are properly credited is crucial to keep things fair and drama-free.

I also want to mention that, like many others, I’ve been using AI technologies in my own business. I leverage AI to generate articles for my website, helping to provide fresh, relevant content more efficiently. It's been a game-changer in streamlining content creation, much like the way these art assets are being shared to enhance the gaming community!

Looking forward to seeing more incredible contributions from artists here!
