So...who's run into THOSE guys? (BIG SPOILERS IN HERE)
« on: April 20, 2017, 11:28:04 PM »

The Remnant. Appears to be ancient TriTach drone fleets—advanced stuff! Or maybe they are more than drones and are controlled by some type of AI? They mention the "Creator"...

I came across a warning beacon near a system that I was sent to survey a planet on and as soon as I popped into the system...BLAMMO! A fleet of like 3-4 all new ships (some even destroyer sized) jumped me. Thankfully my new Drover-class light carrier was able to keep them distracted with its fighters and I picked them off, but damn, they have shields AND ship systems.

I also found a "Damaged Remnant Battlestation" but no way in hell was I kinda try to take that on with my ragtag fleet. Something to come back to later...

I am pretty sure those are from the AI war as you get ai cores from them and they were prohibited since the AI war.
I also found a system where it was a tundra planet there was a inactive ring and that tundra world was dicivilized. There was a bunch of those guys guarding that place... kinda creepy ;c;

Yeah, I've encountered these guys. O.o They aren't that tough (although they do use high-tech weapons and systems), but they still freak the flip outta me. Especially the "Dormant" ones; I keep expecting them to pop into life the moment I get too close.

@SCC Pretty damn common in systems marked with those warning beacons (which are themselves a really neat feature). I haven't gotten around very much so far, but in those systems they can sometimes be found "dormant" near jump points or significant objects (comms relays, planets, caches, etc.), as well as actively patrolling the system.

Outside of that, they seem fairly rare, but they do pop up now and then.

Rare? In my game I get jumped by cruiser-sized ones fairly regularly. They're strong stuff. Kinda wish I could get some of the assault frigate ones for myself tbh.

Found a fleet of these in my game.  They have a rep bar!  And they weren't attacking me!  ...I'm guessing that means it was one of the "dormant" groups people have mentioned?

Really tempting to just let them be.

I just encountered the cruiser-sized and destroyer-sized derelicts today. And the survey ship.

They're all still made of wet tissue paper and are about as effective as a Mule. Station ship is bleh. Haven't foughter larger Remnants yet.

They go larger than cruiser, from what I've heard.

I've only fought frigate-sized ones so far.

Extra-spoiler about Remnants.
Spoiler
There are no capital-sized Remnants. Instead, you have to fight a station.

Those are not the Remnants, just old Domain drones. You'll know what this thread is about when you see it (and get eaten by it)

Erm, fixed the "collision damage with stations bug". Nicely done, though :)
