Which mods can make the game unstable? Some solutions?
« on: August 02, 2016, 11:39:10 AM »

I just "finished" a game of Nexerelin and I stopped because the game would crash a lot. I have to admit, I loaded all available faction mods, wanting to play a massive map, but most of crashes were probably from mods.

Now to ask. Which mods can make the game unstable and do these mods maybe have a "fix" to not crash?

Should I choose Java 7 instead of 8 for stability and if I do, which mods will that deprive me? Personaly from tests, to me at least Java 8 seems to be faster in battle, but ever so slightly.

Well it would be nice to know WHAT mods you were using as there are some mods out there, like the mods "revived" by DefiasOne and NGO that are unstable and buggy and should not be used until they are fixed

Remove these as they are all known problem mods.
- New Galactic Order
- Kadur Theocracy
- Looters
- Noir - Artefact
- ORI - Objectless Research Institute

Make sure you are using this hotfix jar for the Knights Templar.

You should be using GraphicsLib these days, not ShaderLib... You list both in your mod list?

You are also using several factions that that I don't know for 100% if they are truly reliable or not but would not use myself personally. Also, Java7 is a safer bet and the only mods that will deprive you of using are ones that should not be used to begin with.

Agreed with Meso. Also the following mods are also possible crashers:
- Autonomous Ships 0.4.1 (High chance and I think even was a cause of a bug listed in the report section)
- Flu X 0.9.1
- Crystanite 1.6
- ApproLight 0.4.6f1

Never had an issue with Autonomous Ships. On the other hand Blackrock and Shadowyard still have issues with the Templars I believe unless you can find a fixed Jar lying somewhere (and I can't remember where it was)

Thank you so much guys for the replies and pointing out possible problematic ones. I am really glad I asked. Greatly appreciated you took the time to reply=)

Also thanks Meso for pointing out the fixed Jar.. now way I can play a game without Templar AND telling me I have still Shaderlib up. I totally forgot to remove that one, since i got the Graphicslib. I bet that would bite me in the behhind.

@.@ Tartiflette, is the fixed jar the ones Meso mentions maybe? If so, I will be very happy XD

And again thanks Kitsune for replying agian and adding more suggestions. I will risk it though with Autonomous Ships. I really want to check out the options it gives and I hope to be lucky like Tartiflette.

The reason I have been using Java 8 up to now, was mostly The Mayorate. At least for some reason I thought it was made with Java 8 and it could not work otherwise. Good it see it actually works =)

I switched to the latest Java 7, or maybe should I use the last public one?
