How does shielded cargo work in larger fleets?
« on: April 06, 2016, 05:15:35 PM »

Does it act like a points system, where a shielded Buffalo offers 300 points of space for any illegal goods within the fleet whenever a scan is taking place? If there were more than 300 units of illegal cargo, would the penalty of that cargo being detected be reduced? Basically I want to know if bringing some combat (non cargo-shielded) frigates will hamper my smuggling activities.

No, it only greatly lowers the chance you'll be detected. It's not 100% foolproof.

Would you happen to know by how much? Is it proportional to the amount of shielded cargo space and the amount of illegal cargo? Does it compound with multiple ships with shielded cargo holds? Does having non-shielded ships increase detection?
