I have a question about drones:

Do they receive any boni from skills? Like increased armor from construction?

Because they aren't really ships in your fleet, but still part of your fleet in a way

Yes, they do get bonus. When you take the skill and press f1 on fighters you have, you will see next to armor stats  a +. Thats how much they get the bonus from your skills.

I believe he's asking about the drones that are deployed by ship systems (think the Tempest's Terminator or the various PD drones on carriers).

I don't have an answer for the question itself, but it's a good one.

You can't as they are not ships in the fleet as fighters are. Thats the problem.

IIRC they do get every bonus marked "all ships in fleet". Doesn't make much difference though, their stats are too bad to begin with.

Maybe some experiment will do.

*Console Command is required.
1. Create a new character. Do not spend any aptitude or skill points.
2. Have a ship with a drone system. Drone should have some armor to speak of.
3. Have a ship with a weak weapon installed - Which should one-shot the drone above with precisely the damage required to do it. If none exists, some basic modding will do.
4. Enter the simulator. Deploy drone ship as ally. Shoot the friendly drone, within the weapon range, once. See if drone is destroyed.
5. Exit the simulator.  Apply Technology aptitude 10 and Construction skill 10.
6. Repeat step 4.

If drone in step 6 is destroyed, confirmed. If not, false.

Assuming all those problems are worth it. Which I suppose not.

Changed Armor bonus to 100,000% per point of construction.
Watch shepherd drones tank a Templar paladin like a boss.

They do, but maximum of +20% armor is only a drop in the pond.
