No such luck on this one, instead I flameout on his shields a couple times before circling around to shred his engines.  Using Imperium's 1000 frag dps Hailfire Chainguns this time instead of HMGs.

That should not be possible. although 1000 DPS frag chainguns, yeah that might do it. seems totally balanced on an enforcer. XD

The Console Commands mod, it has a god-mode command.

No console commands are in use, though it does have max skills vs an unskilled Onslaught.  Heavy armor + armored weapon mounts + the XIV bonus yields around 1300 armor and the out of control spinning spread that quite thin.  Most of the actual hits came from point defenses and autocannons.

Though come to think of it that might be a .7a easy file converted to .7.1, which would then have half damage enabled.  I have killed Onslaughts with the original hmg build on the old version, though.

Nah. After explosion, we can see frontal armor is a bit scratched off.
Just usual Core epoch metal box it seems.

Just imagine the terror if the AI ever learnt how to effectively use such a design.

Capital ships would be even more defunct than they already are  :-\

Fortress shield does mean much when you have 3k kinetic dps (after skills) riding your exhaust pipes.  It doesn't have flux shunts and the simulator doesn't have skills, so that hard flux isn't going anywhere.  If you avoid the initial Tachyon Lance to the face you can fairly easily get behind it and stay behind it.  The AI will pop Fortress Shield just long enough to make things worse for itself then either drop shields entirely or overload.  In either case you shove some Annihilators up its tail pipe and laugh.

I love Enforcers!

This is some scary-ass ***.  I knew the Enforcer was powerful and all, but being able to tank every Capital ship that can't outrun it?

If the AI ever got that aggressive and I was on the receiving end....Someone hide me.

It would be fine. Looking at the video, its a pretty special set of circumstances that let the Enforcer not get instantly melted by the Onslaught.

Remember that a BMII can take out an Onslaught (and that was before skills), but they aren't that fearsome.

Without the 5 point Helmsmanship and Evasive Action bonuses, capitals can't actually turn at rates appreciable on non-geological scales. What this reveals is not that the Enforcer is ludicrously overpowered, but that skills are ludicrously overpowered and that you should be able to give opposing simulated ships officers.

Oh, and that Reaper Torpedoes are absolutely required to be mounted on every capital ship. The Onslaught can mount 4 Typhoons, and even without skills I think that 4 Reapers to the face would oneshot a burn-driving Enforcer.

Perhaps, but as you can see the Onslaught has a clear opening twice to vent while the Enforcer is overloaded and out of range. It didn't do it in either case, and in the second case starting from 0% flux instead of 50% flux resulted in it being easily overloaded and killed.
