Random content update to add a new much needed defensive cruiser to the Diable Avionics lineup: The Daze-class heavy cruiser.



It won't win you the war, but it will hold the line, and even better it will do it for cheap.

NEW CONTENT:

 - Daze-class heavy cruiser:
   . Anvil to the Haze-class' hammer,
   . Few weapon mounts with wide arcs,
   . Generous flux stats further enhanced by a Flux Redirection ship system.

BALANCING:

 - Haze-class:
   . Now has Flicker Core ship system instead of Flux Redirection,
   . Speed reduced to 60 from 70,
   . Armor reduced to 900 from 1000.

Still loves purple. Still not skilled enough to make a mod that doesn't get that one damn error.

Problem: If I use Dynasector dynamic start, sign up as a Diable officer right away and grab a commission, I never become allied to the pirates even though Diable is. So a pirate fleet may attack me, prompting a Diable patrol to join the fight on the enemy's side. Not sure if this is an issue with the faction or Dynasector.

It’s neither.  Pirates are excluded from the Commission mechanic, as far as I’m aware.

I don't think we are talking about commissions. It's just that the relationships of the players aren't synchronized with their faction's when joining Diable since it is one of the few factions allied with Pirates unlike the player by default.

Well, FlashFrozen has been busy cooking up all sort of new weirdness:







So yeah, new stuff on the weapon side. These might not be "mainstay" weapons, but some that might find use in specific circumstances, or to put an enemy off balance.

Just two quick bugs; I've somehow learned the Wanzer Gantry hullmod, and I've found the Vortex Drones as an attachable wing on a Maelstrom. Not sure exactly how these things happened.

Those are not Bugs, but Features. Wanzer Gantry has always been something you can learn, and the Vortex being modular was unintended but I decided to keep it that way.

Good day!

First off I would like to thank Tartiflette and FlashFrozen for making Diable Avionics. It is definitely my most favorite faction and I love using the Maelstrom and Wanzers more than anything. However, I know that its not exactly Diable's method of operation, but are their plans to potentially bring in a supercarrier for the wanzers? I've been trying to use the Imperium Matriarch but it doesn't really fit the fleet theme very well. I do not think it would be OP as although the wanzers are strong and the matriarch was very efficient at dispatching frigates and destroyers it had a lot of trouble against ships with even a few EMP weapons or fleets that had a few wings that used EMP weaponry as well as being more difficult to work with compared to situations, like described, that the Maelstrom would easily handle for a ship with greater DP cost and slower burn speed than the maelstrom has. This might be because wanzers are easily EMP'd and when hit by ion they collide with ships and die instantly en masse. Also, I know that even a supercarrier might not be planned but a supercarrier with the special ability of the gust sounds pretty great for taking command of a wanzer in a group of them even if that would make it OP but that's not really necessary.

This mod is legitimately one of the more impressive mods I've seen and considering the amount of talent on display with this game, I don't say that lightly.
