This will still happen every once and a while when you're piloting an oddy. If you flame out exactly when you boost you fly off into the sunset at 650 speed.

Yeah, just had the same happen to me (attached, note the speed). I don't use Furies in my fleet because they have a tendency to yeet themselves into the enemy fleet and die -- that's a big reason why I never released DPS numbers for the Fury, because it was so unpredictable how they'd behave that it was hard to get a complete run where none of them would suicide into the enemy fleet. The AI doesn't seem to consider hulks or something when deciding whether or not to use Plasma Burn.

Incidentally, this is the best way to break through my fleet, since my fleet is arranged in a thin line (can be seen in the combat radar on the lower right) so there's little I can do about a ship that's flying through at almost 500 su/s. It's suicide if any of my ships do it though because the enemy is arranged in a ball in the middle with reinforcements trickling in.

The drift is a pretty common occurence since shrikes were added, just found this one with the Brilliant wildly spraying between enemies funny.

If you think Furies are wild, you guys should see what's it like having a Nova in your fleet. That thing chucks debris like it's a torpedo, and rams ships harder than anything else in the game.

I recently tried Station Cheese in a Redacted System. The Nova ended up charging itself into the station bodily so hard that it flipped the Rotary arm of the station around like it was winding a clock, annihilating a frigate on the other side. Perhaps stations should have a little more mass...
