whats the most effective missile to give the AI. I had a brillant plan of 4 reapers with a missile rack, 8 reapers on a destroyer sounded good on paper but the AI don't use them properly. so im out of idea's i can't decided whats good.

The AI loves to waste ALL of the missiles on the first target they saw with shield down/overloaded. I would usually give the AI Salamander or Atropos for small slot, Annihilator or Sabot for medium slot and Squall or Locust for large slot.

It is still gonna be reapers. Other than mixing into gun's weapon group and alternating/linking, there is not much behaviour editing to control. Just focus on how well it works when it works.

I’ve been having a lot of success with goron spamming, both the medium and small sized for ai. The large one kinda sucks however. They don’t need eccm package to be good. Typhoon or cyclone reapers are also real good, especially with an eccm speed boost if you can afford it.

Sabot or Harpoon is my default choice for an AI fit, depending on whether its relatively lacking in anti-shield or anti-armor capability. In practice this usually means Sabots for high tech, Harpoons for low tech, and a coinflip for mid-tech. Atropos or Hammers are also acceptable for the HE burst role, Swarmers can be decent on frigates or destroyers.

AI loves to switch targets and often lets enemies run away who should be destroyed. Harpoon chases down such enemies and finishes them off thanks to its good damage and great range. This makes it the most viable missile for AI use. Close 2nd choice would be Reaper, as it's used in both roles, to bust shields like Sabot would and to finish enemy off.

It really depends on the ship. It sounds like you had an enforcer which will either hesitate to use or just miss with reapers. Atropos or annihilators are probably better in this case.
