there are 2 more reasons why no*music loading should be option to disable fully

1. clutters starsector.log
2. increases loading times (even on SSD it's noticeable)

i fully second that idea, i assumed the
"BSC Standalone IP Mod Submod" was for that purpose
but maybe i was wrong and more designs, hull variants and subvariants, weapon types and whole ships are lost to time ?

i mean, outdated and obsolete and abandoned designs got theirs own 'use'

important note :

just use the mod `SkillEdit_JustExtra`
combined with the mod `QualityCaptains`  https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=21038.0

`Quality Captains` contains both edited skills, thus `SkillEdit` is duplicate
`Hellmanship`
`AutomatedShips`

`SkillEdit_JustExtra` works fine, so you can enjoy `Extra`


but i'm getting random crash (usually when the Extra skill is added last)

how to replicate the crash ?
custom start, fill the skills then last the LoadOut Design + Elite it
then start game it will crash ... it could be collision vs Nexerelin

there is "BSC - Drone Refits 0.3" inside "BSC 0.1.95.zip" which has 2 different files from "BSC 0.1.95.zip" downloaded from google drive

which one is the intended correct one?

So, I was having the same issue and eventually learned how to compile Java to fix it - my first foray in modding!

You just need to comment out the line: Misc.setUnremovable(sierra, true);

from: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Fractal Softworks\Starsector\mods\Arsenal Expansion 1.5.4a\jars\src\data\scripts\campaign\rulecmd\AEAddVow.java"

Then re-create the .jar file.

I can now remove Sierra and store the ship again.

any chance to share patched .jar with the rest ?

Hi! Music is not actually loaded into memory, it's streamed from disk when it plays :)

thanks a lot for explanation

in some old version (3 years ago)
i had issue the music files were accessed repeatedly even if music was offline

i wanted to ask some questions
How to to tell amount of memory all music takes ? (base game+mods) e.g. via logging ?

Is there simple way to completely block music from loading ?
(w/o editing all the sound json files to remove), disabled in menu isn't enough

hence why would like to ask for way to fully prevent music loading (file i/o and ram) in settings.json
