Both your topic title and your explanation made me confused...

What exactly do you want? Make a mod with all the old sprites you can find?

Basically, just needed to see if anyone was willing to test out the mod (if I go on with it) and report in the ships balancing. The said mod will just be a test to see how modding in Starsector will be and go on and make an original faction mod.

Strange. Everything looks in order.

It's possible you have an illegal character in the description line itself, but I can't be sure what those would be - I just know some characters don't show up the same way between the file and Starsector itself.

Try temporarily removing the descriptions file (just shift it to your desktop or somewhere safe) and start the game, to make sure that it's actually causing the problem.

Did that a few times already, everytime I put the strings folder in the mod explodes. However it works fine without the csv. I could send you the mini-mod but I'll need to ask for permission first. (Sprite dump...right)

Sooo my attempts at making a description sort of... exploded.

I says that the hull id could not be found but I've double checked to see if it is the same as it is in the HULL file and the ship data. What did I goof up at?

Are you sure it's the description that's the problem? And can you share a screenshot of the "descriptions.csv" file?

I was thinking of (probably? maybe? possibly?) salvaging old sprites from long dead mods or sprite dumps (with permissions of course). However I may need an accumulated review on terms of the ships' balancing. Just needed to see if anyone's interested if I do actually set this in motion and spark some potential interest.

Is it me or did the launch bays change in 0.8? Every time a try to put a launch bay from Trylobot's ship editor it doesn't appear in-game.

for some reason, you have to also define the number of bays in the ship_data.csv

*Facepalms* yep it seems that there are new values in 0.8 that I overlooked, Anyway, thanks mate

It seems that I have maxed out on regulars escorts so I bought a new carrier. Problem is: I don't know how to deply them and I think I have all the required outfits for fighters. Is there a hotkey to deply them?

I'm pretty sure the Domain would wreck any ship or technology the Sector currently has surpassing even Tri-Tachyon's since it has been over 200 years since the Collapse. In other words, the invasion of Domain space would be a VERY daunting task. Plus, if heavily defended the attacker would need a 5:1 superiority assuming they were lazy and didn't develop any new technologies.

Yeah I renamed the topic due to the problems that a DLC presents but the question still lies on how the game would change if there were a mod that sees the Domain's return and the functionality of the Gates
