I just installed the Nanoforge. Now my ships have next to no d-mods, but still, even when prioritizing, I see no Onslaughts or Astrals. Just junk ships.

Yeah unfortunately for me, the Astral seems like a "win more" ship, but if the battle doesn't go your way, it's likely to get nuked as you said. I'll keep it in my fleet because it's fun to see so many Atropos destroy something though.

As far as burn level is concerned, 16 is enough for me. What I really absolutely need though, is the increased "slow" burn level, to 7 in this case. 4 is way too slow.

Edit: Basically when the battle seems to be hard, I don't deploy the Astral. I'd much rather deploy another Onslaught and something else. And more often than not, the result proves I was right.

Maybe I shouldn't be playing on default battle size, I don't know.

I tried prioritizing but it didn't change anything.

I'll see when Orbital Works finishes building.

Edit: Well well well, aren't we lucky!

Edit 2: Nope. Orbital Works is done. Prioritizing still doesn't do anything. My fleets are just made of garbage ships. Hopefully the Nanoforge will change that.

Hey again,

This time I'm using your tool to find ruins! :D

However I noticed that there's no way to differentiate the different ruin "densities" on the website.

Would it be possible to add this? It would make searching for vast ruins a lot easier!

Thank you. :)

Yeah I guess it's worth installing it even if it pollutes if that means much better ships!

Knowing my luck I probably won't find a pristine one. Although before I can raid the big guys, it'll take a lot of time. I still struggle against very large pirates fleets so... Yeah.

Took out a few REDACTED but they didn't have *that* ship with them so it wasn't that complicated.

I've been exploring for 9 some cycles - I'm not nearly as powerful as you are (can't beat REDACTED, raiding a major faction is a funny joke) but I've dug out a lot of stations and ruins.  Results have been:

5x corrupted nanoforge
2x catalytic core
2x fullerene spool
2x cryoarithmetic engine
2x plasma dynamo
1x orbital fusion lamp
1x autonomous mantle bore
1x fusion lamp

I'm using one corrupted forge and a spool.  More seems to be a very bad idea - disappointing!

Well you have much more stuff than me!

You're set to have a nice production with all that. :D

I still need to explore more. Mostly what I'm doing right now is, I explore systems I reach through bounties, or through the "blueprint location" NPC givers, where you spend a story point for some juicy blueprint.

Edit: I also explored around my two colonies. But yeah, mostly what I did was "shop around" for ships, weapons, etc... That's my favourite part of the game I think lol.

Do not forget that installing nanoforge on a habitable planet will add Pollution for +25% hazard (and +4 to Pather interest).

Damn, didn't know about that. I'll think carefully before installing one then. :D

What do you mean "cannot be found" though?

In my previous run I found a corrupted one in some ruins / station. (I forgot which it was).

38
Oh ok thank you! Completely forgot you could actually upgrade that industry.

I need to find a Nanoforge yeah, exploring a bit but no luck so far.

Hey,

Just built Heavy Industry on my best colony, the problem is... It didn't change anything regarding my fleet composition.

Prioritizing hulls doesn't change anything either.

What am I doing wrong here?

And the colony the industry was built on:

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks.

Agreed on Squalls being necessary on Astrals as well as Legions, Conquests and Apogees.

Now that you mention it I should really try Squalls on my Apogee yeah. For now I'm using the new Dragonfire torpedoes but they don't have enough ammo in my opinion.

Edit: Plus the AI tends to waste them I found. Shame because they deal really good damage.

Edit 2: Here's my updated Astral loadout:

I found that the back turrets wouldn't really be put to good use so I left them empty, not sure if that's the correct decision.

Ah ok, nice to know about the blueprints.

As for arms dealers, the ones I found had 1 million budget but knew things like Atlas, Paragon, and Onslaught, but no new ships.

Guess it was just bad luck then!
Set them as high priority and check again.

Mmmh, what do you mean? You can set priorities for arm dealers blueprints? By default they're sorted by budget. I think I would have seen them if they were available.
No, in your contacts you can click on your contacts and set them as high priority. High value pirate contacts, with high priority turned on will offer some ships they wouldn't normally offer such as XIV variants of the Onslaught and Legion. Make sure they are your only high priority contacts.
I'm not sure if they will offer them, but if Alex remembered to add them to the list arms dealers can sell, then they should appear if the arms dealer contact has high priority turned on.

Damn I had no idea about this. Will definitely check that out when I launch the game next time. :O

Edit: So I checked, and apparently the arms dealers don't appear in my contacts. Only those who offer bounties.

General Discussion / Re: Colony Threat event

I mean, currently I know several blueprints for capitals, but since my colonies cannot manufacture ships yet, I'm stuck with Venture as the "best" ship for my patrols. And it makes a pretty significant difference.

They basically can't deal with anything. Good thing I have a star fortress and batteries to defend the colony.

I'm almost certain once my fleets have Onslaughts in them, they will be more effective. So I don't think it's 100% cosmetic.

Hopefully, fleet doctrine can be implemented into this, makes sense that a system with pristine paragon fleets would be harder to attack than one defended by junk fleets.
As it stands fleet doctrine is mostly cosmetic imo, you change it into whatever you think fits your faction theme.

Is it really? I thought if your fleets had nice capitals they were way more effective.
