This has been discussed before:

The frequency of updates is currently too slow for Steam. Steam users expect smaller but more frequent updates.

If people see that there can be a year gap between each update they will just demolish the game in the reviews.

Sorry again for not posting my fleet, I haven't played in a while, not sure when I'll play again. I'm going to install another OS soon(ish), will need to reinstall and reconfigure everything.

I'll make sure to backup my save of course.

I'm still reading what you post though.

Hey guys thanks again, read all the new answers.

I will try swapping Reapers, but I really like them a lot on this ship. If something gets overloaded it's pretty much done for with this. But I can try other stuff too.

I will post my fleet (at least the first part of it with the biggest ships) next time I play!

Edit: Sorry for the delay, not sure when I'll replay. I have stuff to do and other games I play but don't worry I won't forget the thread.

Could be tomorrow, but could also be in a week. Either way, I will definitely update it with my fleet once I start playing again.

Alright guys, here's the updated loadout:

I got a XIV one with lots of d-mods but they'll get removed automatically over time don't worry. I kept the two Marks because I feel like kinetic is slightly more important. But I added the two Railguns as suggested above.

No more Missile Racks, I hope it'll have enough Reapers. I linked the Reapers weapon group also as suggested, hoping it will actually use them now.

Not sure on the second s-mod I should have.

It's not focused on combat skills at all as you can see. I consider Industry tree to be too good, money wise, to pass up. Saves you so much money in the long run.

So you DO use HAG on this ship! :D

I'm really torn on what to use then, I'll post my loadout next time I play. Like you, I really enjoy triple Reapers. I'll try to position it in the way you said and see what it's like.

My officer isn't optimized at all.

Also my own character doesn't have ANY combat skills other than Gunnery Implants so I couldn't even pilot it myself if I wanted to.

Edit: Oh yeah, important to note. I cannot get the third built-in hullmod, my build is likely very different from yours.

Like I said in another thread I made, I specced heavily into Industry. I will post my character build next time too, so you can see.

Thanks for the replies guys. I still haven't played today so I can't tell you how effective it is.

I'll remember not to use the "escort" order when I give orders to this ship!

Get the mobility skills and shield skill from combat, energy weapons mastery and extra vents from technology, ordnance expertise from industry.

Get all the shield tank hull mods and high scatter amplifier and ITU. s mod the most expensive ones and put the op into maxing vents and cap.

Stick 4 plasma cannons on the larges, phase lances on the mediums, and fill everything else with tac beams. Focus on filling front facing mounts and keeping cap/vent maxed out before filling in the rear mounts.

Now the trick is to keep fortress shield active until the plasma and phase lances are ready to fire, you drop it and reactivate it immediately which unleashes a massive burst of damage in a split second. It's a short range build by paragon standards but will obliterate anything.

Unfortunately I have specced heavily into industry and don't really wish to retrain. :/ But it definitely seems fun.

4 gigacannons, obviously. Fire and sit under fortress for 10 seconds.

Yeah I'll probably try that once I can get my hands on the last Gigacannon that I'm missing. And believe it or not, the 3 I found were from the ruins I tech mined, I couldn't find any for sale anywhere.

Edit: I'll ask you for advice when I can find it because I really have no idea how to build that thing with those weapons though. :D

Edit 2: Also going to bed now, sorry in advance if I can't reply. Will check the thread again tomorrow!

Alright yeah, neutral s-mod is also probably a good idea. I'll see if the AI has flux issues with this loadout.

That said, I've never seen any of my Onslaughts overloaded, they just turn off the shields and tank with armour.

Although... Sometimes they tank Reapers lol.

One day I think I'll try the no shield hullmod, probably fun to use if built right.

If a mod "breaks saves", it means that if you add it, once removed, you can't play without it.

Basically the mod becomes mandatory for the current save.

Yeah I don't think I'll s-mod Heavy Armour. Armoured Weapon Mounts is probably a good choice but I'm waiting on your confirmations, wouldn't want to ruin the ship. :D

Alright, my final take is as follows:

Assumptions: offcier has no missile spec, elite PD, or ordinance (your current 5 skills + elite impact mitigation, basically); the goal is to have a tank rather than a DPS, and efficiency overhaul has to stay (-15 OP in practice, really should remove it for more caps).



Really tanky, decent damage, and absolutely demolishes fighter swarms of any size. Ended up quite similar to the build I used against hypershunts, in fact.

Oh ok, that's a bit different from what has been suggested! I won't use that one yet but maybe I will in the future.

This is what I settled on for now, I replaced the suggested Railguns by another suggestion of the Light Autocannons, much cheaper.

Hey,

(Yes, another thread by me, sorry again, but I'm loving this patch and playing a lot. :D)

I found another dealer, and was able to order a Paragon. It will arrive in 60 days as usual.

My current Paragon has 4 Tachyon Lances, 4 Phase Lances, the usual "sniper" (or disco) loadout.

Now, I want to try something else. I've tried 4 HILs and 4 Autopulses before, but I really prefer the Lances overall. That being said, my loadouts probably weren't optimized that well for those weapons, so if you want me to retry those with a correct loadout, I can do that too!

What should I try? The only condition I have is: No splitting on large energy mounts, it has to be the same 4 weapons!

I'm very likely to be piloting the ship as opposed to leaving it to the AI, mostly because I ran out of officer slots.

I'll be honest with you, I bought this game in 2015, never used the sim once.

Not sure what I should be testing it against or what to do or anything like that.

I'd rather trust your instinct and build the second one straight away lol.

What do you think would be the safest candidate?

Honestly for me my Onslaughts just get things done fairly well.

I haven't fought *that* REDACTED ship yet of course, but I've fought 3 REDACTED fleets (not all at once lol) with the ship that has several large energy mounts, forgot its name, and I did alright all things considered.

So dual Mark IXs? I can try that yeah. Never thought about using anything but Flak in the medium mounts, but again, now is the time to try!

I kept the Reapers because since someone suggested linking the weapon group, I want to see it in action, see what the AI does with that. Maybe it will actually fire them now.
