Any way to fix it on my end if its not too complicated? Kinda sucks to trash two different saves in a row.

Bug Reports & Support / [0.8.1a-RC7] The Bounties... They've Stopped.
« on: June 05, 2017, 09:48:40 PM »
Happened across two separate saves already.

After I accept a commission from the Persean League, all the bounties would just stop coming. No system-wide bounties. No named bounties. Nada. I'd usually be able to finish the last named bounties (from before I accepted the commission from the Persean League) before they expire, but returning to the core worlds would give me the rewards for the bounties I've done... and that's it. No further bounties come up.

I was keeping a lookout for other possible reports on this happening, but nothing comes up. So might be some sort of edge case. Got the two save files ready in case it's needed. Will also test out the saves, try to see what's happening.

Bug Reports & Support / [0.8.1a-RC6] Missing Loot After Battle
« on: June 04, 2017, 04:53:52 AM »
Kinda hard to describe but here's how it goes.

Fight pirate (or just get into a fight).
Destroy some ships, then make a tactical retreat (full retreat my ships while enemy still has ships deployed).
Redeploy my ships, proceed to destroy remainder of enemy fleet.

Pretty sure what happens next is I get to loot ALL the ships that I fought. But what happens is I only get loot from the ships I destroyed after I redeployed my ships the second time.

32-bit Player here.

It just Out of Memory errors on me.
Tried installing it in another directory. OoM error.
Uninstalled 0.8 Starsector then installed 0.8.1. OoM error.
Resized campaign background (the .jpeg files) to 25% of current size. OoM error.
Resized campaign background to 25% of current size AND run without sound. Runs (or at least enters the main menu, haven't tried gameplay)

Did system requirements shoot up from 0.8 to 0.8.1, or is this because of the transition from 32-bit to 64-bit? I didn't have much problems with OoM errors before (as long as I didn't load up on too much mods) with 0.8.

For reference, running Windows 7 32-bit, 2GB RAM, Intel i5 2nd Gen. on a laptop.

In the endgame, you could sell all of your AI cores to a pirate base and instantly bring up your reputation with the pirates to cooperative. Kinda defeats the purpose of a pirate playthrough though.

Interesting thing is, you could sneak into ANY military market, sell all your cores, and instantly get maximum reputation in that faction. Taking a commission from Tri-Tachyon made everyone hostile to me, but once I sold all my cores, everyone was basically best buddies with me. Is this an inteded feature?

Maybe Apogee will end up as a jack of all trades, master of none. Can sort of reliably do many things but is outclassed by ships made for that role. Pro'ly needs the nerf bat to turn it into that, though.

This is starting to give me that Elite: Dangerous vibes. It's awesome! So will this new feature tie in to contracts? i.e. Survey planet X for X $pacebucks, establish outpost Y for Y $pacebucks.

The inaccuracy of the Vulcans is actually what makes them better than LMG's and its bigger brothers. Vulcans hit missiles more consistently than LMG's, and offers greater DPS to boot. Makes shooting down knackered armor a trifle.

You know you are feeding us hype just because of that comment right?

Oh yes, I'm very aware of that :)

Yep. He's got a working prototype  ;D
It's just a matter of time...

I would think it would be.... a omni shield might be more practical though, or as a special ability.

Ship System: Shield Lock

Lock your omni shield in place for an increase in shield arc/efficiency.

I'm just really hoping for something cool planned for the big old daddy Knight cruiser. I always try to use it but it's really outshined by the Stenos, because its fighters aren't really that useful at the moment.

Is it possible to have a sideward shield? Kind of like a frontal shield, but on its side, locked in place. I think that'd give a new twist in broadside ships.

Ahh. The first blog post to help us get over the first phases of the Long WaitTM
Hope it's coming soonTM.

I personally hope it's a new weapon, akin to the Arondight Accelerator or the Hammerclaw. Those things hit with huge knock-back effects, especially on shields

General Discussion / Re: Afflictor is the new Hyperion
« on: April 09, 2016, 07:56:55 AM »
I do like how much pressure you're under when facing off against an Afflictor with a Hyperion. The amount of concentration needed even just to survive is ridiculous, especially against a level 20 officer. It really makes taking down said Afflictor just that more satisfying. Although I must say that the Afflictor's system is in dire need of a nerf. Too much power for too little drawbacks. It just makes it a no-brainer to use.

Anyone else thinks that the Knights Templar is just BRDY, but they came back from the future? The newest BRDY ships, Imaginos and Morpheus, are nearing the Knights Templar level of technology. Main difference is that BRDY ships need an external power source (the projectiles) to power their scalaron rejector/disruptor whereas the Knights Templar's technology has advanced to the point wherein they can use the flux levels of their ships to generate a Priwen Burst. Probably coincidental, but still. Pretty freakin' cool. Mad props to the modders. They really deserve more praise than what's given them.
