I think they deal too much damage to armor and hulls

will Nexerelin ever go back to its roots of starting with a fleet and taking 1 planet then growing and fighting like Exerelin? I miss that style

I see that a lot of ships are carrier hybrids which is cool but the dedicated carrier pilots and officers are kinda of stuck in a bind. Having to be good with weapons and fighters can take a lot of points

wow the heavy fighters are terrible. They do nothing to other fighters at all. Also why are their small carriers so flimsy? They have the same flux gens but the slots are kinda bad and everything

See I dont mind the needler and I actually think its a fair weapon but the HVC gets the best of all worlds and when you them them usually the enemy has like a fleet of ships with them and they just flood the screen with the bullets. Completely unfair.

Bounty system based on level was a bad idea to begin with. Also why does it progress in bounty? Real bounty hunting would vary very much or at lease have a bunch in all categories. Instead i jump from 70k to 150-350k instantly and thats all I get. Did everyone become a super villain over night? where are the smaller fries?

Yeah but those weapons you have to get with in ranges of guns so its a fair match but that thing you just slap it on a fast ship and its impossible to fight...they even hit fighters with it so carriers have a hard time as well

I would normally agree, but carriers are often isolated behind the front line. Such a mechanic would make flanking around or using your own fighters to harass them specifically a more viable tactic. Otherwise the carriers are the amongst the last ships you engage, never mind destroy, once the remainder of the enemy fleet has balled up and been encircled

Eh, in my experience, flanking almost always gets you killed. The AI is very good at collapsing on ships that isolate themselves. I agree it would make fighters with ion weapons slightly better, but I actually like the idea precisely because it mostly affects frontline carriers. My comment was more in response to other people who were concerned that it was too big a nerf. I think it would be a helpful change.

That's where phase assasins kick in.
Even if you can't kill the carrier with one pass, if you managed to disable it's deck, it'll be out of action for a period of time, let alone the replacement rate loss during the period of disabled deck.

One of the problem here is AI tend to drive carriers out front no matter it got a gun or not so people think it's major nerf, so yeah it will need some ai tweak so they don't just go frontline to blow themselves up, except those with big guns(namely Legion and Odyssey).

Can we nerf this thing already? Why does it do good against both shield and armor. Shouldnt it bounce off shields doing almost nothing? Instead they are a cancer with too much range and fielded by many of the enemy ships....hmm...wonder why? Its not fun to use them as I sit in the back and deal free damage for no reason and even the computer is adapting itself to send me hate mail every time I use that tactic. It is just an all around too good of a gun. Guass cannon does the same thing but at least that thing generates a lot of flux but the HVC doesnt cost anything. Theres no joy in this gun for anyone

I'm rude and pushy with highly specific tastes, but I take it out on my code and not the forum, so inexplicably, people almost like me.
Well maybe people need to get their *** together and use common sense. We havent been using that and look how the world turned ***. So no sometimes I am going to get *** off because thats all people listen too half the time. It is LOGICAL to have a large dedicated carrier and IN FACT even the naval warfare switched to them for their fast hard strikes with faster crafts and hard to detect. Maybe you need to have a large fighter fleet deal with a problem. I am mad nad pushy because I am passionate about things changing for the better and people put up a fight for that.

oh no I didnt even have mods before the poor game performance and adding mods barely made a scratch to the performance
