I've recently picked up Starsector again and I'm enjoying the upgraded campaign a lot, but I have one serious issue with it: I can't actually find any cool stuff to buy with the money I earn.
The sector feels like a starved middle of nowhere. Most markets are almost completely empty, and the only faction that seems to have a decent-sized capital with some stuff in it is the Hegemony. But even Jangala is often missing the bare essentials - I find myself equpping the less important ships in my fleet with completely random weapons because I can't find enough of even simple things like Tactical Lasers. Other factions are even worse, with only a few most basic items even in their largest markets. I'm sitting on 500,000 credits but I can't do anything with it - there are no capital ships to buy except a single rusted Onslaught, and even if there were, I wouldn't have anything to arm them with.
So am I missing something? How do you get your hands on better ships and weapons?
