Still 'helping the enemy' thing exists - by selling that machinery you helped them to recover their factory destroyed by Tri-Tach(surely not without blood), you're selling food to Barad while Hegemony tries to blockade the planet, etc.They're not gonna like it.
Boosting the rep gain when you're taking rep hit on another faction sounds more fit to me. But yes, given current chaotic state of the sector, it is possible they understand mercenary's 'business'. Also can be applied to pirates since they are not united and interests may not align.

I should point out that the Tri-Tachyon is only interested in their profit. ;D

Does that include $ShiporFleet thing? It messes up a lot of battle report messages and other things.
We're doing this translation project anyway, though :P

I'm not sure this is a bug, I mean you did actively evade the scan. Essentially, you were hailed via comms to report for an inspection, and then observed hastily docking, even leaving ships behind before meeting the inspectors. Seems suspicious to me.
Nope. Did the same once and nothing bad happened.

I`m currently working on a translation mod and quite sure some of the files containing in-game descriptions will be changed in following updates(such as minor balance tweak, etc). I don`t want to move all the translated lines into a new file every time a new version is up, nor look for all the changes in the new one and edit them.
Is there a way to overwrite only certain value in .csv or .json files without overriding the entire files? Would simply leaving places for data I don`t want to change blank work?

Edit: Also I am quite sure that I did not found all of the files with in-game descriptions. Can anyone list it please?

I have 100 reputation with hegemony, tritach, and independent and access to the other 2 factions military markets and have yet to see an omen, an apogee, conquest, odyssey, hyperion, astral, venture, tempest, an aurora, affliction, or a doom.
Tri-tachyon guys have none of them?! Wonder what happened to their blueprints...

This update made quite a lot of changes, so I`ll have to get used to them... Anyway it is great now.
Hard to get along well with both Hegemony and Tri-tach guys though.

Perhaps that event occurs often on purpose to help folks like me get back in the running after a poor idea that kills off their whole fleet. >_>
Quite possible, since I started new game several times(to check the fine starting condition for me) and it happens every time. food shortage in Asharu. Haven`t played long enough to have any story to share though. Looking forward to the weekend :)

Frigates are already fast and don't need to get even faster than the big ships, so I wouldn't complain about all ships getting +4 burn equally rather than frigates getting +5 and caps getting +2 or whatever.
I agree on this. Especially since the 2 burn-speed hullmods got painfully nerfed.

I'll answer by what I know... However I'm quite sure some(if not all) of your questions has been answered in somewhere, mostly blog or the lore corner thread mentioned above.
Can a ship in one system talk to a ship in another system directly?  Or do they have to transmit to the local relay at sublight speeds, then have the relay bounce the message to the other system?
They send the signal via comm relay because, if otherwise, why would they use a comm relay in the first place?
Also EMR used in transmissions today travels at lightspeed, not sublight speed(Given it is travelling in vacuum).

According to the lore of the Tachyon Lance, comm relay transmits the signal through the hyperspace. So it is just faster-than-light transmission.
Given that you'll have to travel to each individual market to see the prices and such (which might change by the time you arrive), it seems like FTL communication is not really a thing in Starsector.
It is. Ability to see the price of markets you aren't currently visiting will be implemented in the next release.
