Also, it was posted on a thread specifically for free-to-use sprites. So i think that answers your question.
Sure, and nobody will mind, but it would have been polite. Especially since you modified them in such a... herm... "colorful" way?

3 heavy maulers, 2 flaks, and 4 ion torpedoes. The ion torpedoes have been heavily nerfed for the sake of fairness.

Hmmm, that may work in my favor. Heavy Maulers won't be able to do much against Paragon shields. My Tempests will probably get crossfired and melted. Starting to think they were a bit of a mistake :P.

I think they have been tested against 3 Paragons and just blew them without losses... Before the nerf though.

They'll get re-uploaded in a few hours: there were encoding problems in the previous videos.

They probably could if you got your reinforcement and they didn't... (they got a crazy broken loadout though)

My forecast (having seen most of the round 1 fleets) for round 2:
I : Overwhelming victory of Helmut
J : Defeat of Midnight Kitsune
K : tough call... I'd say razor thin advantage for Mesotronik
L : MShadowy fighters get shredded
R : Farlarzia's Templars get annihilated
S : Short victory for Foxer
T : again a tricky one, I'd lean toward Dark Revenant victory by a thread...
U : Victory without any losse for Darloth

Tough luck in a lot of matches, because the opponent already have a good fleet to take on yours, and refit isn't possible.

Hehe, I made some videos of parts of the process, about paint-over, and speed relighting.

You may want to check The Mandate or Wayward Terran Frontier.
Those seems to fit your description.

I'm currently making a spriting tutorial, and can share the first VIDEO about the sketching process. There will be extensive texts but no audio as I'm sure you don't want to hear my accent  ;D
Usually I'm sketching with pen and paper, but I tried to go full digital this time for the sake of recording.
Timelapses are fun, it looks like I know what I'm doing... It's 5 times accelerated, each sketch took between 20 and 30 min. The first three really are "freehand" sketch to find pieces and shapes while with the fourth I tried to get a fine silhouette first.

A wild second pip appear. I had only one weapon in my group and both pips were attached to the target (even when switching targets).
First time this occurred to me while using the mod all the time. It's not harmful and must be very rare, but you might be interested nonetheless.

But, he did wrote a TUTORIAL... Granted it's kinda lost in limbo, but the search bar is a good tool to recover it. There are many others HERE, HERE, and even MORE everywhere.

I wouldn't call them "better" since Vanilla is still the best for vanilla stuff, but if you want large scale stuff, or more variation, it's a bit limited. Also I'm far from David's planets quality. I started making some of those, and one day I'll probably will post them here too, but they scream bad photoshop for now.

For smoothing the barren planets, you may try to add an "atmosphere" the same color as the planet and low opacity, it will make them slightly diffuse on the edges, like a small glow effect...

Bump because HUGE modification of the thread and I didn't wanted to make another one while they are complementary:
In addition to the ever growing collection of backgrounds, I posted new texture elements to populate your systems: new rings, new stars, new clouds, everything needed to expand the vanilla content.
