I never had any problems before this update with this, but now when I alt-tab the game hangs, or strangely shows a screen from a few minutes earlier in game.  It also does this when I run it Windowed on my main monitor when working on my secondary.

Anyone else experiencing this?  It's not a big deal but I just thought I would get it out there.

Inspired by Paul's post about how badass the Hammerhead is with injectors I thought I would take mine out for a spin.

It did not go well.

**What I've learned about missions and scavenging so far:**

1: Get a fuel tanker (I know they're ugly but you'll thank me later)

2: Don't pound a ship to scrap (just don't) always salvage if you can

3: Analyze Missions tend to be at the edge of the sector so bring lots of fuel

4: Always poke around the system where your analyze mission is, there is usually good loot to be scavenged

5: It is good to remain independent if you're going to scavenge so you can put into port in most systems to refuel and resupply

6: Don't forget to turn on sustained burn when going across the entire sector

What tips am I missing guys?  Thanks for all the feedback on my last post.  I'm climbing the learning curve again.

How to easily get supplies. 

Do you struggle getting supplies?  I know I do.  I was putting around my beginning system until I finally got brave enough to leave.

Step 1: Put some skills into industry (particularly salvage)
Step 2: Select a quest to some far off place
Step 3: Load up with fuel and cross your fingers
Step 4: Go into and abandoned star system
Step 5: Salvage tons of derelict ships and debris
Step 6: Profit use the fuel and carry on with your quest

General Discussion / My 0.2 on v0.8a so far (spoiler I really like it)

I've been playing this game since about v0.6  It has a come a long way.

What I like so far:
Being able to set a course
They added radar to the game UI (used to have to mod to do this)
Salvage
Easier to recover and add ships to your fleet
More mission structure
A tutorial that is built into the gameplay
The way fighters are equipped to a carrier and no longer in the fleet screen
What I'm not sure about yet:
Crew no longer gains experience
How expensive supplies continue to remain (honestly I probably just need to play more)

General Discussion / Is starsector still alive? Any ETA on 0.6?

So from checking around the site it seems that version 0.54 was released in January so it's been roughly 4 months since a release.  Don't get me wrong I love this game, it has been the best 10 bucks I've spent for a game in ages. I'm playing the hell out of Oumoz's mod at the moment, but I would kill for a little more meat to this "alpha."  Or just a word from the devs about hey maybe sometime next month we can expect .6.
