Mods / Re: [0.97a] All the Domain Drones+ (ATDD+)

After extensively using the Line Breaker in battles. I think it would need at least installing two small frontal turrets on the center hull as there have been occasions when it's been destroyed by frigates and destroyers exploiting that weakness when all missiles weapons have been expended and the drones are unable to effectively be deployed to deal with the harassment, specially when it always angles in the direction with the wing mounts unable to hit them. Or if both wings are destroyed, it lacks any frontal offensive if the two missile mounts are depleted. Then again it's probably designed that way as to act like a long range anti cruiser / capital. More or less I suppose it was intended to mount defensive anti-fighter / missile drones to make up for the lack of frontal defensive turrets ?

Wouldn't mind seeing a smaller variation of the Line Breaker with a large array of small missile racks that make use of the auto-loader. Or any drones with modular wing mounts.

I had a few mods back around 2019-20 which I regret cleaning out directly to the recycle bin, after reinstalling the newest version of Starsector this year. As I am not sure what the original mod name was, but it was a large overhaul type that was compatible with Nexerelin.

Basically featured a modified Derelict Guardian that could deploy derelict frigates as if it was a fighter wing. Or it was some sort of work in progress as I think that feature only worked in the Simulation and not in actual combat.

Is it possible to have the Dustkeeper Forgeship to have an extra ship market for regular derelict drones in addition to the Proxy and Remnant ships ? As it seems like most of the time trying to setup a colony in the Mia system mid-way only to see a regular hegemony inspection fleet tear apart Blithe's and Seraph's mass defensive group. Far as I know there's no other way to upgrade the forge ship's defensive fleet outside of the corrupt or pristine nano forge. I've yet to encounter the "repose" capital type, but is that also part of the Proxy fleet's selection ? I don't remember which mod it was that I played long ago but it modified the Guardian to deploy frigate derelict drones as if they where fighters.

More or less another means to purchase derelict types outside of scavenging them, specially if running mods that expand the derelict fleets such as "All the Domain Drones+"

Glad to hear you enjoy it!

Yes, Vanilla and New Drones are meant to be paired together. Vanilla+ is what allows Motherships to spawn fleets. Though that only works on new saves sadly.

As for adding other domain mods, go ahead! They are all great :D

As for the pirate station derelict stations, that is New Drones+ :D

Awesome, I'll get them both now and fire up a fresh campaign.

I'm not entirely sure if it's due to other mods I have that affect factions, but is there a specific delay or random selection of when derelicts spawn a raid station ? Since it seems during one playthrough, I didn't get a chance to visit one as a Hegemony fleet wiped out one from a run and despite several cycles passing I didn't see any new one appearing aside of Nex's remnant raids. As I usually visit the derelict stations to buy the larger variations. Scary thing is that I played around with the console commands, gave the station an orbital works with a corrupt nanoforge and returning later to see the patrolling derelict fleet's using your Linebreaker and in some cases SotF's Guardian.

Weirdly enough on rare occasions visiting the derelict station I can accept jobs from derelicts which I guess is the only means to improve my reputation with them as I was curious to see what I could access from the Derelict military market area [Most likely mothership ship types]. Not to mention 'hire' derelict captains which I had hoped they were cross compatible with piloting both regular and automated.

A good mod to put in your recommended mod list is Quality Captains as it allows a bit of tweaking to the Automated Ships skill and the AI cores. As to make use of a more unrestricted derelict fleet that expands the choices such as this one.

Definitely loving this mod so far. The LineBreaker is perfect when paired up with Ship & Weapon Pack's "Wall" Drone Capital which both tear up heavy duty fleets. Hard to encounter or salvage the both of those in deeper parts of the sector from searching probes or survey/motherships.

I think it was the Nexerelin mod that spawns a derelict sub-faction that acts like a pirate/path raid station which would be easily destroyed by the regular factions, but it allows it to utilize your larger fleet of derelicts which makes them more of a dangerous/interesting encounter if attempting to destroy the station, weirdly as I discovered in my last playthrough you can board the station and actually purchase some of them.

With the download options, do I need both to fully utilize the mod or does "All the Domain Drones+ New Drones" include the all that was in the "Vanilla" version as well ? As I've only used the "+New Drones" so far with my campaign run. More or less wasn't sure if I could only use one of the two versions but not both.

Was also looking to add additional derelict mods such as the Domain Explorarium you recommended, is Thog's Domain worth adding along with this too ?. Was trying to remember a large overhaul mod I played back around 4 years ago that had a modded Guardian that had a custom built in fighter wing that used the small derelict frigate types as fighters ... or if that was what the Guardian drone originally had as a feature before being patched out.
