ya... I'm definitely one of the more "right way for the game" modders striving more for elegance than to push limits

I didn't like xylos fight for universe mod for that very reason. You can join factions and stuff but they're all done through trading... since when do you "trade" a faction allegiance or a mission?

not bashing the mod or anything, I know some people are fine with that, to each our own i guess...

Hi all,

So I'm trying to make ships with moving components on them (blinking lights etc.)

I'm thinking of making custom engine styles but I don't know how and don't know about the limitations to that method...

any help or alternatives in this regard?

What if you can use the extra range when attacking, but the enemies have to get close to the core fleet to engage

Essentially it allows fleets w/ fighters to tie smaller fleets up with fighters and engage.

And maybe if u engage w/ fighters u only get ur patrol until certain time has elapsed (so the core fleet has a delay before getting there, allowing faster fleets to simply slip by on the escape stance)

Perhaps a hierarchy system

It would be a separate tab like fleet and refit

Basically we get to define squadrons of ships with their own flagship and fighter flights with a lead wing

When a leader gets detailed an escort, those under it in hierarchy will escort it, if a underling gets a detail, either it's underling (if applicable) or a equal from the unit will do it (or out of the unit if everyone else is busy)

So for example under your fleet you could have "1st carrier group" (and let the players name those or something) under which the flagship will be a condor that in turn has 2 units under it. A squadron of 2 frigates and a destroyer (the destroyer is the flagship of that) and a flight of say 2 interceptor, a heavy fighter and a bomber, any of which can be the leader

Hi all,

does anyone else feel like as of 0.52a, fleets spawn a lot less often?

played about a month in game on 0.52a and only saw about a half of the amount i usually see...

is it just me or do others feel this way as well?
