is it going to be? Not pushing, just wondering, can I add this mod to my current save after this mod has been updated to 0.9?

I just need the version before this one, one from 2017, so I can load back up my old game and continue playing. I don't like all the new changes and I don't feel like starting over. Unfortunately I had overwritten the blackrock mod when I installed this update, now I can't find the old version anywhere. I found old versions for all the other 6 mods I had. graphicslib,  lazylib, nexerlin, ship/weapon pack, imperium, dynasector…. now just need blackrock drive

anywhere to download the old version? need it for 0.8.1 I forgot to do save transfer, and I already overwrote all mods, now im trying to find the mods old versions I was using in my save, so I can get my save file to load, so I can then use copysave, and finally upgrade to 0.9

where can I get an old version? I forgot to do a save transfer before updating starsector to 0.9. Now I need to find old versions of the mods to reinstall on the 0.8.1.a version of starsector I was using so I can load my save game, copy it, then create a new saved game compatible with 0.9.

I didn't have the original mod files. So I need this, I got nexorilin, and the others are not updated to 0.9 anyway, graphicslib and those were updated but I don't think those will matter in loading the saved games, since they are compatible going forward

faction wars, and diplomacy changes, isn't all that part of the game by default now? I think before it wasn't, but now with colonies etc, these features are standard?

Upgrading to 0.9a rc10 broke all other mods I used like ship/weapon pack etc.

does it make sense to use this mod with 0.9a still or is it redundant?

Does one still need nexerolin with 0.9? And dynasector etc? Or is all that redundant now?

could you give advice on good fighters and bombers? Also I see you have maxed venting, and not so much points in total flux. And I see you've spent a lot of points on those subsystem things. I max flux and vents, then weapons, then I have enough left over for one or two subsystem things. Am I doing it wrong?

not fixed.

Suggestions / Suggestion: Governors and Colonies
« on: April 07, 2019, 10:57:16 AM »
Hi everyone, I am exicted for the new game mechanics colonies and building empire and 4x lite stuff. However, I find it very time consuming to get down to that nitty gritty as I usually play very casual. That seems to be a lot I'd have to learn and do to be good at.

Might I suggest being able to install a governor who based on some minor inputs from you carries the colony where you want it? He manages the day to day stuff.

Second: Now that you have your own faction, it might be easier to allow you to have better control over allied fleets, instead of just only being able to ping them with a short range pinger. You need to be able to organize better. The AI can just send whoever wherever, but you need more control to be able to direct your forces where and when you want them.

Ok the suggestions have been helpful, even though I know there isn't much data. Will download obs and go from there for a live recording. I've been having some more success. I realized I guess I was just trying to keep everyone together and mitigate pushes from the enemy, but I am more looking for good positioning and opening now.

What are some good suggestions for fighters/bombers to use on my 4 carriers?

Also, coming up against a fleet of equal size and strength one must expect to take losses, but even losing 3-4 ships an engagement is crippling money wise. And then there is no point recovering them even if they are intact because of the permanent damage to them.

Also, should I lean heavy to flux cap or flux vents? I max out both. I see people lean heavy towards vents and less flux cap, and just leave off some weapons to put on more system mods.

Ive built up a good size fleet. Destroyers, cruisers, battleships, battlecruiser, carriers, a mixture in storage. No matter what combination I use, I get owned by other fleets. Black Rock fleet, imperium fleet (using nexeorlin mod).

I set each ship to escort each other, and form on me. No one goes off on their own. What usually plays out, we face off with enemy and they eventually overwhelm us. They also have mostly cruisers, destroyers and frigates. My heavy firepower onslaught and his supporting cruisers and destroyers make no difference.

I try to fit with variation of anti shields and anti armor weapons on my battleship which I fly. I never had any trouble getting this far, I mean I'd say im in mid-end game area now, I've won lots of battles during that time. Should I be trying to out maneuver people instead of getting in a shooting war? Are my weapons terrible?

Hello everyone. Thanks for the suggestions I will try them all!

Here's an update: I took the fight again on a reload. I used the onslaught myself, brought the battlecruiser and 2 heron carriers. This battlecruiser I have is a hegemony one with 3 fighter wings as well, cant remember name, and it has boost like the onslaught, it even looks BIGGER than the onslaught. I won but it was a hard fight. I lost both carriers but nothing else.

My battleship took a pounding. I would afterburn into 2 enemies taking the hits without shields, and then pummel them! Destroyed a good few this way. My armor was shot and I had between half and 3/4 hull strength left. After battling so long, my ships had taken heavy damage and malfunctions and it became so slow, the enemy brought in their heavier ships.

At one point me and a carrier were retreating at like 25 speed to the safety of the battlecruiser and my other carrier, as the blackrock fleet use emp missiles which love to circle around behind where I have no shields on the battleship. they made a couple pushes as I retreated, and almost got me on flux, but the 28k flux onslaught held out. And I was able to limp and regroup. When the carriers died and I brought in fresh ships, it was over for them!

I love this game.. Havent played in like 6 years. Well worth the wait.

Please help me, I've worked hard and reached mid to late game. My fleet with hegemony is 1 onslaught. 1 battlecruiser which can carry 3 fighters. 5 cruisers. eagle, vindicator and 3 others, about 8 destroyers and 2 frigates and 2 heron carriers.

what are the best support ship fighters/bombers for heron? I want them to be able to kill frigates/destroyers since the enemy seems to swarm with those.

Also please help/advise. I beat a black rock strike fleet, man they are hard. blackrock faction. But I was left with three ships, a battleship, cruiser and battlecruiser. My reward? 100k, and some good salvage which I couldn't carry anyway heehhe. Shouldn't it be prudent to increase the reward of beating such a fleet? Otherwise why fight them? Since you MUST sustain losses, cant have a perfect win. Or lopsided all the time, wheres the fun? But on the flipside its no fun grinding again to get a big fleet only to be smashed again. I don't think the risk/reward is worth it. I defeat a blackrock fleet in my territory and get a paltry pay out.

Any advice? I find I run out of heavy stuff to hit ships with so Ive moved to equipping my ships with rocket pods (100 shots each) and this is much better) when  I have an opening I move in and unload the rockets.

Is there something I am doing wrong? Should I fight them? Don't see the point.
