Yeah, the title should say it all, i'm getting some occasional non error crashes where the game simply closes itself, nothing is reported, and when i start it again, it works just fine.

Any idea what this might be?

Suggestions / Bigger portrait boundaries.

I would love..or actually, i beg of thy that the limit of 128x128 pix for portraits is increased to something like 300x300 or freely customizable, size this small simply ruins large scale high quality pictures if you have to resize them to 128. might sound pointless, but i really find it desirable.

Think something could be done about this Alex or are my dreams of awesome HD pics crushed beneath the boots of the hegemony? :'(

The edit variant feature in dev mode does not work, its still the same after you turn it off and load the variant in normal game.

EDIT: I'l rephrase that, it does not save any changes you make to a variant, so it remains the same after dev mode is turned off.

would be neat knowing how many of each ship type you have destroyed with your fleet, not necessary, but a cool thing.

3 Capital ships.
12 cruisers.

I was swimming through the files, and i was thinking... the condor.. has a medium missile..

Got a letter a few hours ago...

Letter says as following:

"We at the Enoch Thulin collage want to inform you that we this weekend was struck with a terrible loss, Filip Frank on the construction program, 3rd year, has died in a traffic accident on the night to Saturday, our thoughts go to his family and friends and we feel great sorrow, with this reason we will start school thursday (blah) with a memorial in the construction program's halls" 

Why does *** like this have to happen? why does my friend have to die?

Decided to copy my post from Ai slips thread, since some of these might be bugs.

- When AI uses fortress shield, the shield will lock itself to the front, as if it was a FRONTAL shield, even if it is OMNI, and it will take huge amounts of fire and die. easily noticeable on ships that has fort shield and not 360 deg shields.

- AI is spamming the vent button when having less than 5-10% flux, even on capital and cruisers for absolutely no reason, and gets themselves killed in doing so. apparent on mods and some vanilla ships. "understandable on frigates such as the hound to maintain fire, but for a capital ship? not a chance that is intentional."

- Enforcer/Dominator launches annihilators, then burn drives at the same time, killing itself with its own missiles. "I'm sure this has been reported before."

- Broadside logic is somewhat broken. :-\ AI cannot tell the difference, but that might be hard to fix, could make an option to tell the AI what kind of ship its flying, if its a "BROADSIDE" ship, he will prioritize turning his broadside to the enemy over anything else, if not, play normally. ("also sure this has been reported")

Bug Reports & Support / Save crash and white background

My game was starting to act Very slow, despite me staying on 63 FPS constantly and never dropping, so i saved and the game crashed, and now the save doesn't work anymore, any idea how to fix it or do i have to play from the beginning?

Also noticing the background going white after you fight some battles, returns to normal if you restart the game, but it's still annoying and obviously a bug of some kind, could be mod related.

I have a custom system of this, for ballistic weapons, but the AI activates it and then never turns it off, always resulting in him dying due to the extra damage taken, is this a bug in the original system or just me missing custom AI behavior?

I think it would be better if the bar instead showed how much is needed to the next level instead of what you have and what next level is, like this

--->  Exp needed to lvl up: 68.281

instead of ---> you have 192.992 experience, next level is 261.273, you do the math.

Got this error I've never had before, i hit autoresolve when the enemy had like 2 ships left and i didn't bother chasing them down.
