My worry about this game is that it will just not be particularly fun. What little I've seen about the gameplay so far suggest that it might become a very beautiful, detailed and enlarged Wing Commander. Wing Commander feels quite slow and generic to me nowadays.

I'm actually more excited for Enemy Starfighter, where the innovation comes in form of new mechanics.
I've gotta agree with this, fun game mechanics and interesting gameplay> prettiness imo.

Whoo! it's about freaking time! I'm a bit worried about EA being in charge though.

Ok, but I've never really liked that style. It wasn't terrible, though 6//10.

Might be easier if we had brain in jar technology.

Heck, replacing the respiratory and digestive systems would lighten the load and complexity of these missions a lot. The human body is an immensely complicated thing for the mindnumbingly simply things that it needs to do.
Cortex Command, lol.

There's a lot more that can be done with games than the graphics, you know? There's the activity that can be going on at once that can be increased, the amount of stuff in one area, etc. But also, like I said improvements to the AI so that we can finally get away from the classic "Hard mod is the same but with the computer cheating with resources/health/ammo/whatever" and more "Actually more intelligent"
Yes, that's exactly my point, AAA game devs know that more people will buy the game if the graphics look better.I agree with you there's far more that can be done, but based on where AAA games have been going recently. With thing like Crysis with boring short story and gameplay, but amazing graphics. I don't think big-name game devs would care about gameplay when people can look it and say "oooh looks pretty, I want it". But then go to play and get bored of it very soon, but the publisher and devs have been payed already and they don't care if people are getting overhyped games, (EA) lol.

Sadly enough, I think if we did have better tech today , we wouldn't see better games. Just games with better graphics, as is the current trend. I guess I have a different view on this since my computer's graphics capabilities can't handle anything that was released less than 4 years ago, because to me the next-gen consoles seem like dream-machines.

The screen is just too small, I'll just use my Macbook and Bootcamp Windows to play games.

And the PC elitist rage starts right about... now.

lelyhm8g2gbusybeingelitist.

It doesn't actually help that, yunno, instead of showing off GAME content, they show off totally unrelated content that doesn't have anything to do with games for the most part of the show.

Aside from CoD.

ARMA 3. garbage

Tried it yet? It's a great milsim. Just sayin', no need to call garbage on that before you actually have tested any of it.

I might (but probably not) try it if I could, lol but I just don't have a powerful enough computer. :P

I thought that the COD Ghosts reveal was pretty damn funny. "Oh look, we have lean and slide! Look here, one of our characters is a dog who is probably going to die in a cut scene! We now have Crysis 1 level graphics!" The Xbone reveal wasn't much better. A fee for pre-owned games and Kinect has to be plugged in for it to work. I bet the Xbone is going to be slaughtered by the PS4.
IKR, the graphics of BF3 on the previous generation consoles  looked better XD. They're all like "emotional characters and story!" lol more like short linear cliche story ::).

Will not play older games.
Will not play preowned games, without paying a fee.
Money grubbing at it's finest. :-\
