So...uh...why not solve this problem by leaving fighters alone. They are fighters.
SingleShips could be CUSTOM thematic frigates meant to blend your favorite whatever genre into starsector. It doesn't have to stop at frigate size either. I think I mentioned the macross quarter in another thread. The idea is a project that gives fun "unique" thematic ships to factions and can serve as your pilots Main ship. Perhaps find some way to customize these to make them more unique to the player. I'm not sure if its possible to code, But what if the mod had ship parts that you could attach your custom singleships that can be blown off in combat (like the current redacted space stations and RED factions mothership). Anyway trying not to get too offbase here. I think your single-ships Project is just getting started and the concept can be expanded and refined.

If it's a new-system. It is indeed best to make it to where it meshes with other mods and is only Optionally Opt-in.

Indeed. I like this. About teraforming planets..sorta comes in line in a possible nexerlin add-on such as allowing the founding of colonies or stations.

I wont's lie. It's late and I"m tired...so I thought the title said ( Re:[0.8.1] Transformers). Got so excided... ;D :D :( ??? :-\....

.... Huh...  :) ;D :o WoW. I was a bit slow Really SLOW there but I got it. So all around more output of smaller mount which means more room for hullmods, giving reward for the costs!!! Being in a Boss ship outflanking wannabe Boss ships IS totally BOSS! Thankyou HELMUT!

Simple install and Duel Wield them BOTH ;D. The game isn't that large. This is answering to your modded question. As for vanilla. Definitely .8x  . It really expands the scope of the game. You can allocate Lots of memory as before it was capped.

Point is. Your going to love this..Trust me. With every update. Alex keeps going EVEN FURTHER BEYOND!!!!

My intention wasn't to restrict their creativity. I was simply pointing out there was a paradigm, what they were getting into, and that they would need diligence and determination to see it through. You are right though, I played both ironclads and Uomoz a lot. Anyway. Glad others are chiming in. I wish you were around to tell me that when I was working on my mod way back when. So this is good.
