« on: May 16, 2012, 03:03:46 PM »Hmm... my two cents: increase the contrast a little bit and make the whole thing slightly lighter - ships always look darker in the actual game due I think to some low opacity overlays. Also really add a dark border to the whole thing.Like so?
I like the color scheme of the new part better.

Faction Analysis: The Sidus Dim
The Sidus Dim faction began as a small company named Sidus Corp under an entrepreneur named Maalf Targoth. Like many other entrepreneurs, he traveled to the new independent Sector-DM58 in 2309. His diligence and hard work on Caligo created a foundation that would allow his company, Sidus Corp, to quickly outgrow the competition in its system. Sadly, this was not achieved in his lifetime.
After many successful years, the Sidus Corp had reached the apex of its power, dominating trade within its system. Due to the Great Collapse, the Starfarers were weakened and their influence throughout the systems was either diminished or entirely lost in some cases. The Sidus Dim, ever a step ahead, saw an opportunity to use their vast resources to seize power. Its leader, a man named Theon Targoth, conceived an ambitious plan to convert his commercial corporations into a military empire. The secret planning and preparations consumed his entire lifetime, leaving the actual execution to his first born son, Rhe Targoth. However, Rhe Targoth had inherited a fate that he did not want. Unwilling to exact such a toll on human life, he was forced into exile by his younger brother, Validus. Validus Targoth seized executive power and set out to create his empire.
Soon after, the Sidus Corp revealed an enormous fleet whose numbers challenged even those of the Starfarers, renaming themselves the Sidus Dim. Using this fleet, the Sidus Dim embarked upon brutal campaigns intent upon sectorial domination. Just a few years into campaign, many planets had fallen to the military might of the Sidus Dim. Feared and hated by almost every faction in the galaxy, their only allies are the Onerar, a mining faction. A threat to the balance of power within the Sector, they remain a daunting problem that remains to be solved.

Two things, Before Sidus Dim started conquering they were named Sidus Corp and could Rhe Targoth maybe not get killed and instead get left with no money? So he could later start a small group to try and take down Sidus Dim.

I am also willing to proofread yours to increase clarity and grammatical correctness.
They are hostile towards everyone except for the Onerar (faction from idea thread) and feared by most people. And when you proofread can you notify me of the grammatical errors if there are any?

I would like to start with pixel art. I need tips making this:
look less plastic, more starfarery and maybe some better lighting.
Edit: I have temporarily stopped because of Diablo 3, and since I usually only work on this when I'm bored it will take longer than usual to update.

He worked long hours at (Planet Name) so he could rise from being a tiny starship mechanizer to being CEO of a big corporation. But sadly this was not achieved in his lifetime.
After many millenniums and after the great collapse the man known as Theon Targoth had come up with a vast idea to make his corporations to an empire. It took years for him to plan it out so long that his first born son, Rhe Targoth inherited the corporation. But Rhe Targoth didn't want to rage wars. And when his brother Validus had heard, he betrayed his brother and became CEO.
Not many years after the war started and Sidus Dim conquered many planets with one of the greatest fleets in the sector.
