Imagine if this came to Starfarer, or any other game :).

For me, Dayz and Starforge. Starforge is effectively minecraft+Halo+Starcraft 2. looks pretty cool. Dayz is a mod for Arma II Operation arrowhead and is a multiplayer zombie survivor game, focused on realism and survival.

Lore, Fan Media & Fiction / An old enemy
« on: May 28, 2012, 11:25:39 AM »
Captain "Whizz" McCabe stared at the map of Corvus. The little red dots appearing and colliding, growing and shrinking. He sighed with contempt for he was known throughout the known reaches as one of the most successful solo-pilots of all time in his modified Oddyssey of which he had earned his nickname: the engines had being optimized to outrun most any destroyer and his dual plasma cannons were a sight of terror: six talon-sized lumps of extremely hot plasma fired in under two seconds at most targets. One salvo could demolish a Buffalo MKII before the missles could even be ordered to fire.
Again he looked at the map. But something caught his eye, a blip that filled him with fear, the greatest captainof his generation was lost for words. Signals ran through his brain: hormones activated and a sensation he had never felt for 20 cycles.
Fear.
He remembered. He was once not a soloist, but a son. Not a captain, but a bystander as he last saw his father leave the escape pod. The last time he saw him before officals had arrived and he was swept away, out of the old Vigilance class...
But now was not the time, he needed to think fast and act. The Tri-Tachyon had arrived, come to destroy the last man in their vendetta against his family. Not many knew why, and speculations were made. But he knew, it was a blueprint:the onslaught blueprint that had been stolen from a Corporate centre.
Pressing a button, he leaned forwards and spoke: "Enter hyperdrive to the Tri fleet, over".
He needed to finish it.
Quickly, the fighters and wasps were pecked off, then the cruiser.
But now there was the Paragon
The flux built up and the two ships faced off,the great triangle of the Paragon, and the cylinder of the Oddyssey: steely-blue on white. He couldn't fire another salvo withput lowering sheids, and he couldn't lower sheilds without dying. Again the button: "Evacuate."
He watched the 700 crew and marines fly out, lowered shelds and fired. The autopulse lasers mangled his hull, but not before one shining puple star hit the fuel tanks strapped on the side.
The combined explosions could be seen half a sector away, and bits of metal damaged a shuttle passing by.
 "Finished".

Suggestions / Sabotage
« on: May 26, 2012, 02:22:00 PM »
So, I stupidly take a hit from a torpedo and the, seeing everyone running away, I let my second in command handle it.
Never again.
For some reason, my crew decided that all the disabled ships were hazardous and decided to sabotage the ship, or the other way, I don't know. But I don't see how losing 20 crew can be bad when there are 300 marines on board. So anyway, could the chance of sabotage be turned down as the amount of crew needed decreases? Or is there something else?

Has anyone else played these games? They're as scary as hell. Even the website freaked me out (not the game's website, but the other one).

Suggestions / Grouping

As in, I group together a couple of specialised torpedo  frigates, and then make that group attack something. Kinda like groups in Total War.
