One of the main reasons why steam release is a nono. Is because steam forces you to update your game to the newest version when ever it is out and as you might be able to tell the modding community wouldn't like their mods becoming null and void in the blink of an eye.

That's a solved issue. All the developer has to do is to enable each release as beta branches so users can have the option of not updating. Case in point (another game that had mods break with updates):

i'v never been a missile fan...but the Purcellyra man. ever since i got my hands on it, i'v been using it exclusively. I never knew spamming missiles would be this fun!!!
love the mod so far.
tho i can't seem to figure out how to get my hands on the super capitals and or contact the head npc(can't remember the name).

I wouldn't mind having the Dorito crumbs as built-in fighter wings. Just some ideas if you want to watch the sector burn harder  8)

Couldn't this be fixed with an easy extra step in the engagement interaction window?

A player always gets to choose if they want to engage with the station. If not, then it asks the if the AI fleet would engage without aid of the station.

 If both answers are NO, then nothing happens and the encounter ends.

If Yes, then normal station fight.

If No, then Yes. Then normal fight without station.
wouldn't that be abused by the AI as well when they send multiple fleets at your colony and when you try to intercept them you don't get the help from your station?

To remove corners from the battle map and the problems they cause, I suggest that the map be made toroidal - i.e. go off any side, come back on the opposite side.

most people use condor as a cheap spamable missile carrier that is easily dispatched. your current design of it looks like a heavy modification that sacrifices one of the fighter bays for more armor and weapons. looks like a Hegemony fanatics wet dream.

what happens when one player uses a phase ship but the other doesn't?

simulation runs at server speed, so if host phases, time slows down for clients. if client phases, they don't experience any time slowdown but ship will move at higher speed
