Announcements / Re: Starsector 0.96a (In Development) Patch Notes

Interesting, going by story mission names, they all seem like branches or sidequests rather than a direct continuation of Galatia.

you REALLY do not need to spam defensive structures, especially if you've completed Galatia.

Mods / Re: [0.95.1a] Nexerelin v0.10.6b "Lords of War" (fixes 2022-12-24)

I have an issue with rebellions in my current save, I captured a random planet, used tons of resources to conquer it, spend half a million to stabilize the colony, donated about 1k marines, heavy weapons and supplies each to help out the government. the unrest from rebellion actually dropped down.

I then went on a expedition on the outer rim of the sector and the planet flipped.

How can I prevent that from happening in the future?

My biggest issue is that the mechanics seem to be quite opaque, can't see the progress of the rebellion. I assumed the unrest from the rebellion to be a safe indicator on how well it is going, and that I would get a notification if the situation on the planet becomes worse, but that was not the case.

Also: is there a way to turn off rebellions?

I've always used the stability penalty to indicate rebellion, sounds like a bug

General Discussion / Re: Legion is too underwhelming?

Honestly I'd say being able to reliably bully lesser ships is a key advantage. It's not good at killing other capitals, but if it were it would be a battleship.

I use mine to back up my onslaughts and protect them while they duel the enemies capitalships.

In all my years of playing Starsector, the battleship has never been the first ship to go down.

BTW this is the update announcement image on discord.

Who's the artist?

Phillip Andrada Gas Station Manager is my favorite mod.

Like, you fire an assault chaingun into your allies hull and nothing happens?
That's definitely not something that happens normally.

Perhaps I have missed a dialog text somehere, but I think the player should be informed on the Galatia Research page that the Omega weapons filed in there will be ruined and replaced with lesser ones.

The UI is a bit confusing with the prompt being the "cargo" button - but IMO replicated variants outperform most of their base counterparts.

The consumables are the least valuable trade to me.

I figure that the population metrics on the colony screen represent people productive/relevant to production.

What mod are you thinking of exactly?

tips for enjoying new update

drink prometheum for good health
buy new merch from 100% biodegradable workers
tell ur latest and greatest SFC compliance officer about any haters in ur community

Is there anyway we can get yunifer runi as a similar companion like Sierra (Secrets of the Frontier) or simply take her with us at the cost of total war with Phillip Andrada Gas Station Manager? ;)
Also just asking what kind of interaction can one have with her beside her calling randomly in bar?

Hard Work and Honest Labor is needed for that, please insert 3 trillion credits and 10 year contract before you get your runi dating sim

Suggestions / Re: Contacts vs Potential Contacts

Second the *important* descelection for potentials.

Some faction mods have storylines, but yeah, it's not the main focus.

Several mods add more things to do though - Nexerelin and Industrial Evolution.

Hyperdrive also cuts down on space deadtime

Yeah, I feel like the combat/fleet control tutorials should be integrated into the campaign tutorial.
   - Fuel range visual by default toggled on
   - Black market profitability/Tarriff costs highlighted early
   - Dram/Hammerhead highlighted in Galatia debris pile (pristine? idk)
   - Rotate on mouse by default toggled on

Yeah, especially for the Aztlan mission bugging the sensor array is essential
