I dont know what I'm doing wrong here. I used this a while back and it was great. Now when I hit caps lock to toggle, nothing happens.. middle mouse doent work either. The mod is installed and enabled.

edit: got it working.

I always play as trader a nd never have profits.

Then I realized, it is because you are talking about smuggling, not trading.

When trading normally the 30% tax both on purchase and later when selling screws you hard.

Indeed, black market seemly is OP, but not just because it is OP by itself, but because it is too safe.

I always avoid black market because I thought it would be super dangerous, seemly... it isn't.

No, it is dangerous lol. You anger the faction you trade with, get scanned constantly and they even mess up your ships now lowering cr.
But in the beginning it is definitely worth it. Specifically to mess with a faction you dislike. But yeah, trade only must have been rough lol.

Getting the feeling like the defensive options are not worth mentioning. Just pick for pure offence in whatever is applicable?

Would you park an officer in a different ship just so you could use a specific skill?

Speed being a must have is a surprise to me.

Side note, found an officer at level 7? Is the max not 5 or 6 with skill?

Raiding is definitely the most profitable lol. Deficits need to be nerfed a bit and bounty quests etc need a boost. It should even out.

I love that they made the black market more risky though.

Well, I dislike the new skill system for the exact reason I expected. There's no good choices in it. Most of the time it's a "choice" between something I never wanted anyway (carriers, phase ships) and something that's a very minor benefit I don't really care about. On one hand it's working as intended, since different players might have different ideas about what they never want, but for an individual player there's little choice.

A lot of the time it's choosing between two options NEITHER of which I want just to get to the higher levels.

And looping around is very much not a thing. Can't loop around leadership and industry without wasting a skill point on colonies, can't loop around tech without wasting a skill on sensors, can't loop around combat because the only tiers where you want both are 2 and 5.

I agree, which is why I proposed that there be three choices per tier instead of two. The main problem everyone seems to be having is the lack of choices.

Not in vanilla, thats fine, my game has so many mods in it im surprised it even runs at all lol. What mod do I need to have me one of those? XD
