there's a mod called Stop Gap Measures which adds a variant of the Venture, called the Opportunity.......now THAT thing is tanky as ***. imagine a Venture with bigger flux stats & DAMPER FIELD, absolutely ridiculous xD

I like towing around 2 or 3 centurions with a very PD-heavy loadout (low flux & lots of OP to spare for defensive hullmods). they have trouble punching above their weight but can mulch enemy fighters with ease, and can take a hell of a beating thanks to their decent base stats & damper field. once you've turned the tides of battle your way, you can order them to slowly chip away at pretty much any ship, in tandem, as they are very efficient at making trades when grouped, and in a pretty safe manner.

also, 3 or 4 shepherds (especially the TSC ones) so I can send my enemies to the Drone Zone.

instead of always having to square-up against your enemies in the cold dead of space, starting a fight against another fleet while either is in orbit of a planetary-system should initiate combat in the upper strata of that planet, with a panoramic view of the topography below. imagine defending a Hegemony orbital-station above a lush jungle planet from approaching raiders, with a birds-eye view of the jungle trees & bright blue river & ocean-bodies underneath oneself as you wage battle. or perhaps you want to knock-out a Tri-Tachyon colony, and duke it out against the defenders of said colony, with a lovely view of the gridwork of city lights on the planet's surface.

i think a feature like this would add a lot more atmosphere to the game  8)
