hehehe,

was about to post i figured it out, got a warning a post has been made while ''reading''

DFS is suppost to be a flat bonus; currently it goes like;
((8 burn slowest +100% sustained)+9 Tug DFS +1Nav +1sustainedburn +3hypeTopography)x0.65 =19.5 round up 20

DFS is flat bonus tho,
((8 burn slowest +100% sustained) +1 Nav +1Sustainedburn +3 topography)*0,65 = 13,65 + DFS(9) =22.65

Thats assuming topography is suppose to be affected by deep space... Should that be a flat bonus as well?
if so, it would be;

((8slowest ship +100%sustainedburn) +1Nav +1 sustainedburn)=18 *0,65deepspace = 11.7 -> +3 topograp +9 DFS = 23.7

Still... 9 Tug in my fleet is alot for the max of 30 ships, am not sure how i went 20 in the past whit 5 tugs..... should probably look up an old save and check it out.

So sustained should +100% most of it i recon, to keep the number of Tugs to a somewhat acceptable lvl, something like;
(8slowes ship +1NavSkill +1sustainedburn)+(A+3topoHere?) x0,65 =(8,45ifTopoA) +5Tugs (B+3TopoHere?) =A13,45base B14,5base , and than the 100% from sustained burn =A26,9 B29(maxout20) regular

Whitout Topography, which is a start hurtle for sure;(and previous version of the game)
(8slowest ship +1NavSkill +1Sustainedburn) *0,65 =6,5 +5 Tugs =11,5 *100%sustainedburn =23 (maxout20)
And there we go, in the past 5 tugs where enuf, just as i somewhat recall ^^

Obviously 8 speed slowest ship, is not a default, looks like i had some standard leeway, since above math shows 4Tugs would do, but i definitely had assigned 1 Fleetrow of tugs... in almost all games.


Anyway;
But since u found it... pretty pls, not to many tugs in fleet to make it go fast ;-)

Yes, mine also says+9 whit 9 ox Tugs, it just doesn't apply it, mostly in clouds.

For example, base speed is 8 (slowest in fleet)
cloud makes it 4... if i remember correctly.
than +9 from ox tug = 13

after that we go sustained burn for double, is 26...(aka plenty) maxout at 20 ofc

however, that is no longer what happens.

Ship;
Ox Tug ship (small industrial)

Has ability that is suppose to be fleet-wide speed enhancement called;
-Drive Field Stabilizer
After midgame for me now, i have collected about 9 of these.
This should be plenty to drag any fleet at 20speed true any density of clouds (both hyperspace and system map)
However they dont, the DFS seems to function like the Tow-tug ability*, which is a ship-ability applied to one other (single) ship.
*Monofilament Tow Cable => tow_cable

A restoration of DFS to be fleet-wide again would be appreciated.
Previous versions of game 5 to maybe 6 ox-Tug's where enough, and now whit 9 it still isn't (speed 14-18)

As a quick fix i could modify .scv or .ship file... but ya know, that would make the game modded, in my view.

Obvious 1st question, yes, the rest of fleet has been checked for their base speeds / d-mods, those aren't it.
(in fact lowest base speed in fleet is 8, that would make 8+9 Ox is 17 by default, pre-sustained burn)

Not a major bug, if u can call it that, but an annoying one,
specially if your actually new to the game, feels unprofessional / unfinished..

Project Charon still fires and:


Bugs;
1&2
Archimedes SQC Structure minus -1742 day left till Project Charon Main facility is located.
-Took a picture, but alas, main engine dit not allow to normal PrntScrn capture of the popup showing that minus timer atm.
Also, 2 locations whit Project Cheron (Red planet icon ) completely bug out, getting game fully stuck in menu whitout options.
This screen can not be cancelled by Esc / clicking random spots / etc etc, which means a hard Task manager end task shutdown is needed.... very unfortunate :-(

Hello, I've run into a soft-lock situation with Project Charon. When I try to salvage the planet protected by the [REDACTED] Doritos, I get the attached below result. I saw someone post the same issue in the Unofficial Starsector Discord on 12/31/23, but it looked like it was only with the alpha build. I'm running VoK 2.0.4 and the save started with the 2.0 release. I haven't had too much luck resolving the issue myself, so any help is appreciated.


Project Charon should not fire with Vok 2.0

So for now i will ignore it i suppose.

Theta Core
The theta Core production / spawn facility lingers (whit stack ) -1 stability long after the 180day cooldown period.


I suspect this is an grab data for timers in combo whit another popular
Mod; Speedup, which i also use, and has been known to cause other mods, like yours to miss their ''date of end /start timers''.

Whatever it may be,
A fix or 2 would be appreciated, one that allows both Speedup and your mods to run at the same time ofc.



About to recover a Sleeper ship, i sure hope it will function as advertised ;-)

meh, dont worry about it.
Mostly bugs erros crash ect ect are reported... and not so mutch the times that things go great.
An extra layer on top of that is grammar, reading, languages, perception of those, ect ect

In short.. +1 from me ;-)

Fixed by replacing rat_thestia_system whit displacer(from vanilla) in ships.csv as a quick workaround,
however considering how nice the Apheidas from Leanira is,
i am curious to see, how it is suppost to be ^^


Since i am here;
Exo tech stuff is somewhat expensive atm (as in way to expensive), needs some luv.
As for the s-mod-costing Hull Alteration mods; here is an idea:
Ad a new bar color yellow for example, in the Exo fashion, to the left of S-mod(s) fleet
screen (and other screens), maybe ad a blank space in between as well to set them really apart.
1 max per ship i would recommend (and not cost an s-mod slot),
altho u described above those work as intended,
more better is more better...  stuff... ^^

Procgen tab needs a split, so u can keep ad abys for example,
but leave regular procgen to other mods like Ruhtless Adjusted or Unk Skies bootleg etc etc
Defiantly throws weird stuff at ya whitout CTD or error log.....

Absolutely luv the parralel construction tho, most epic thing in this mod hands down ;-)
-Alex and gang should definitely borrow that to ad to megaport (after upping spaceport)... or something 8)
Refurbished a distant 2nd place, still very nice tho.

Anyway, those 90's devices where build properly, most whit repair in mind, there was way less if any planned obsolescence in those units.
I would definitely have repaired it or at the very least not allow to be hauled out of there.



In the United States, you cannot get coolants without certifications. And for old style coolants you need a cert to even reclaim it from units being removed to then be repurposed to refurbishing other old ones.

If that is true, than how does anyone ad coolant to their / your car?
Having a cert for old style coolants... sure R22 should be behind a cert, it's nasty stuff especially if used in the wrong way. But the new replacement ones? why? Somehow that sounds like an oversight. Surely u can buy at the garage or DIY shop stuff for your car, including coolants.
And if u can buy coolant for your car, all that is left is figuring out which one will do for your air-conditioner. That is.. if any of this was relevant any longer, which apparently it is not ;-)

If u have any more 90's stuff around in or out the house, i would not throw it away, because even thou in your country there is some pushback happening via Right to Repair movement. Currently the stuff that was build back than, works best, and properly maintained; probably longer than any of us including this community. ;-p

Hello MesoTronik !


I hope most goes well, considering.
As for some former posts u made, 6k Dollar is way 2mutch.
I would recommend replacing parts (if needed) and patching up the air-conditioner u have.

Ill first describe the part where there are no leaks in the system followed later for when there are leaks;
Assuming there are no leaking holes in your system, use a replacement coolant for your system.
To test if u got the right stuff;  tap a little bit out of the system and into a cheap small bowl,
go outside and ad a little new replacement coolant into the bowl.
If no bubbling flashing hissing or whatever happens, they are more than compatible,
and thus u don't need to drain your system and replace it... u can simply add the new ''replacement'' coolant.
Some people would advice against this, but that is why u test whit just a little bit, and also this happens all
the time everywhere, including your car during service or even factory's where there is a lot more than
just heat-exchangers and air-conditioners.

Ignore commercial talk like; only replace x form brand x, whit x from brand x.
This is litteral commercial talk. This is also the reason some would almost always fall for this salesman's pitch,
out of stupidity or fear... probably both.
Example... GM motors would always advice GM motors ....would it not? This goes for all commercial talks / commercials.
That being sad, dont skip the testing part, there are incompatibility's around, altho for non-industrial stuff most unlikely.

U have a 1990's system? here is a link for replacement coolants usually found in your local DIY hardware store:

Sometimes it even says on the bottle for what time''era the replacement coolant is.

As for any rust,
Use something called a steel brush; (linky down) brush the spot of rust down, u should -rough up- the area,
( ''roughing it up'' is for surface preparation)
dont worry about the rust that remains after a good brush, for that:
Use some paint that deals whit rust. linky down.

If there are holes,
Use the steel brush again this time to remove some rust if present,
than paint it whit same rust dealing paint, than,
than cringe patch-up tape will work fine, this tape is similar to ducktape, but when heated if shrinks, and thus making a cringe seal. linky down.
Apply heat whit an paint blower, or torch lighter. Open flame works2, altho is difficult, / i would not recommend for beginners in the DIY department.

If i had a case like this, i would be done for under 100 Euro (including buying a paint blower)
U should be done for under 100 Dollar ; -)

PS... check whit a ladder ontop your roof for leaks, should be obvious when u get close, a darker spot --(previously wet spot)-- is easy to see from close up.
Use your fingers to feel the bottom of any hose / hardline, if it has a wet feeling, find it visually, and track it back to the source.

Be carefull here, canned coating sprays dont do the job, and anti rust paints need a rust free underground (and thats hard todo!! )

Edit, in your language it is called heat gun instead of blower.

Whatever the case, it needs to be suited for plumbing. Whit a good range, your area is hot, and your
tubing transports eigther hot or cold coolant medium.

If all this information is 2 mutch ->
The savvy tech guy at your local DIY store should know what u need. Describe the situation and item + (sub)items to be repaired / take alot of pictures

And of-course, don't forget to check for holes or breaks in the system before u actually go to the store, no need to buy stuff your not gonna use.


All in all,
This information should set u up to deal whit this yourself, for a lot cheaper,
 and thus, i will consider this my contribution to u ^^


Last but not least, your system uses a lot of power / energy, driving your monthy bill way up.
Instead of kicking the can down the road, read up on stuff like terracotta cooling, here is a starting linky:

A system like this is possible for your house, because even tho the foto u provided is a bit shy on detail,
I could see u have an house at ground floor, most likely whit a garden, therefore this is possible for u.

Edit, ziggurad had no effect eighter. right now the crashes look random.
Can this bug / error be helped?
