For everyone having version checker errors where it is not reading the URL's on git, update your version of java in the main JRE folder. Lukas found that Java7 no longer communicates with git.

Update to 8 or 23. Link below.

Unsure why this is happening to some people.
Would be useful to know if only this version checker is broken for people, or if the Nexerelin version checker is also broken (Press V in the campaign).

Only thing i could suspect is some issue with the windows firefall or some antivirus blocking it.
Though might also be good to know what java version people are using with it.

Mine is broken, too :( My nex version checker works, but both are "failing to load master version file from URL."

Ship was removed. You're a few updates behind. Current one won't be compatible with your save.

deleted the old saves in the config and still the same error.

Alex will dig into a real fix I'm sure, but in the meantime running the game in windowed mode *should* work. (I ran into this in my dev build but we couldn't repro it on the release candidates. Guess it's not just my 8 year old workstation glitching!)

Another fix to try: set memory management to default or automatic. (Working on figuring out ... why, just .. why???)
Setting the memory management to automatic seemed to fix this.

Hey! I just updated my game to the new release of 0.95a and deleted all of my mods to test it in vanilla mode.

I started a new game, booted in and within minutes found myself battling pirates. The issue? I can't see anything... I can "move" my piloted ship and see the battle happening on the map, but when I tab in to actually pilot my ship in battle, everything is invisible. No ships, sounds, anything.

Hey! Fav faction mod so far, the ships are beautiful and the gameplay is great! Do you have plans on updating the URL to work with versionchecker now that the site changed all of that stuff? Besides your previously stated update, reading some of the games new features mentioned in the potential game update, do you have any ideas for the future?

Hello all! I am having some rather odd lag and can't find any solutions.
In large battles with practically my whole fleet, I have NO lag issues. This game runs flawlessly. However, when I send out all of my carries w/ tons of fighters, the game lags to holy hell.

PC:
Windows 10
Intel i7 4790k
z97 gaming mobo
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
32gb ram

Mods:
GraphicsLib
LazyLib
MagicLib
Console Commands
Diable Avionics
Neutrino Corp
SCY
Version Checker

I was thinking it might have something to do w/ Neutrino Corp fighters and carriers as I tend to get the most lag when deploying them.
I changed my max end ram to 16gb (half of my PC's ram) and my starting to 8 within the params (-Xms8192m -Xmx16384m). Figured with 8 to start and 16 capped it would be plenty to fight this lag. Yet, it's done nothing.

For *** and giggles I even changed the deployment points of all ships in some mod settings and was able to deploy a whole fleet of ships with no lag. It's just when I add any carrier with fighters the game goes to absolute ***. My PC can handle any game flawlessly, except this. And this is all I want to play.

My brain is zombie pasta.
pls help.
